Chapter 267: Two Hours Left

It was dark clouds. Yan Qingwen's heart sank. He remembered the downpour when they first entered the game.

“When we were woken up, it was around 7 a.m. With each season lasting 8 hours, that means summer is… two hours away.”

Two hours. They didn't have much time left.

Eight hours had seemed too long before, but now it felt terribly short. Based on the increasing difficulty of the game, the summer guest was bound to be more terrifying than the spring bear.

Yan Qingwen asked Shen Mo, “How strong do you think that bear was?”

Shen Mo glanced at him. “…Outdoors, I’d give it a 5. Indoors, a 7.”

Bai Youwei asked, “Out of 100?”

“…” Shen Mo chuckled and ruffled her hair. “Out of 10.”

Bai Youwei didn’t want to accept that answer. He should be all-powerful, she thought. But after a moment of reflection, she understood.

First, the space was limited. With a monster inside, the players were trapped like turtles in a jar, unable to maneuver effectively.

Second, their weapons were restricted. Even with their bodies enhanced by the maze, bare hands were a disadvantage against ferocious beasts.

“That bear was indeed difficult to deal with,” Yan Qingwen mused. “The guest is blocking the door, so we, the hosts, can’t go out. The dollhouse is the game arena, and we can’t leave it. Plus, the doll game doesn’t allow players to carry weapons… I think in the remaining time, besides looking for the ‘treasure,’ we also need to prepare some means of self-defense.”

“If we can’t fight head-on, can we use the available resources to make some traps?” Bai Youwei suggested. “I don’t have any relevant experience, but I’m just putting forward an idea. For example, we could pile the beds, wardrobes, and other furniture in the room at the top of the stairs. If the guest goes berserk, we can hide on the second floor. With these things blocking the way, we can at least buy ourselves an extra ten seconds or so, right?”

As long as they could hold out for one minute, they would survive.

“I can do that,” Yan Qingwen said. “But I need a helper. Some mechanisms can’t be installed by one person alone.”

“I’ll help,” Lü Ang volunteered. “We’ve worked together often. I know what materials he needs.”

“Right…” Bai Youwei looked at Lü Ang. “You found some dried grass on the roof earlier, didn’t you?”

Lü Ang paused. “Yes, do you need me to bring it over? I left it in the living room.”

Bai Youwei gently shook her head. “Xiao Xin also found some dried grass in the corner of the stairs. I think it looks like seaweed. I suggest you take waterproofing measures when setting up the mechanisms.”

Yan Qingwen and Lü Ang exchanged glances.

If they needed to waterproof, then any fire-related traps would have to be abandoned.

This was a pity. Fire was the simplest and most effective attack method.

Especially since Bai Youwei also had an electrified rabbit. Used together, the effect would certainly be significant.

Yan Qingwen looked out the window again. The dark clouds were spreading. He frowned and said in a deep voice, “Let’s hurry.”

Everyone got busy.

Two hours, neither long nor short.

As time ticked by, the sky gradually darkened. Dark clouds covered the entire sky, blocking out the light. The interior of the house became pitch black.

Shen Mo turned on the lights.

Amidst the impending storm, the little house on the hilltop emitted a faint glow in the darkness.

The music box on the windowsill flickered, and the snowflakes, silent for so long, began to dance again—

The ball said, “The summer rain is so heavy, it’s so dark I can’t see where the treasure is…”

Whoosh!

The downpour suddenly descended!

The scenery outside the window was obscured by the curtain of rain, just like when they first arrived at this house.
