Chapter 31: The Violent Ball

The surrounding stone walls were covered in mud, dripping down slowly.

Countless holes dotted the muddy pit where everyone stood.

The golden ball was in one of these holes.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

The color of gold often evokes a sense of luxury, but it's easy to forget that it's a hard metal. What would happen if you were hit by a large, basin-sized metal object moving at high speed?

At best, broken bones.

At worst, instant death!

The middle-aged, fat man who had been standing where the ball landed was frozen, his face as white as a sheet. The muddy water by his feet surged after the tremor, creating large bubbles that burst with a "pop." The man shuddered, and the stench of urine faintly filled the air…

The cave was stuffy, humid, and silent.

No one had the heart to laugh.

Everyone stared at the holes, afraid that the golden ball would shoot out again.

It was clearly an extremely hard ball, but its trajectory was like a bouncy rubber ball! During its high-speed movement, the golden ball had almost hit several people, and the mud it splashed had covered them from head to toe! Caught off guard and unable to dodge, everyone was now standing or sitting like clay sculptures, dumbfounded, pitiful, and comical!

Find the ball again?

Their legs felt like jelly.

Bai Youwei quickly counted; there were at least thirty holes within sight, and who knew how many were hidden from view. This meant that the golden ball had bounced at least sixty times.

She finally understood why the game time was 20 seconds.

One of the properties of mud is its softness. When a hole is made in a pool of mud, the surrounding mud collapses due to gravity, eventually filling the hole again.

Therefore, to find the golden ball in the hole, one must act before the hole is filled.

Bai Youwei quickly organized her thoughts, and the 20 seconds passed in a flash.

By now, most of the mud holes had collapsed, merging with the surrounding mud, leaving only a few faint depressions.

No one knew where the golden ball was.

Everyone had been shaken by the speed and force of the ball, and the mud splashing everywhere had obscured their vision. No one knew where the golden ball had finally landed.

After the 20 seconds, an area in the mud suddenly bulged, and the golden ball burst out!

It shook itself up and down, then rotated left and right, flinging off the mud that clung to it, restoring its shiny golden appearance.

"What's going on—" A complaining voice drawled, unusually dissatisfied. The golden ball questioned, "Why didn't you come to find me? I said it just now, the demonstration was only once! For a full 20 seconds, you didn't even search a single hole?!"

Everyone looked at it with ugly expressions.

Find the ball?

They would get their heads smashed in if they weren't careful! They could barely dodge it, let alone find it!

The golden ball angrily scanned the crowd (although it didn't have eyes) and said in annoyance, "Forget it, forget it, the demonstration is over anyway, let the game begin! —

The theme of this game is the Frog's Golden Ball. The warden will serve the ball from any position, at any angle, and with any force. Players have 20 seconds to find the ball to clear the level.

The criteria for finding the ball are: first, your hand must touch the ball, and second, the ball must be stationary.

Ready? Let's begi…"

"Please wait a moment."

A soft voice rang out from the crowd.

Everyone looked towards the source of the sound and found it was Bai Youwei.

She sat on the snail, leaning on her arm, her long hair wet and clinging to her head in strands. Her wide skirt was soaked through with mud, clinging to the snail shell like a beached mermaid, quiet and fragile.

But her eyes were gloomy, and a cold smile played on her lips, forming a strange contrast with her mud-caked appearance.

Bai Youwei raised a hand and asked, "Did you miss something in the rules of the game?"
