Chapter 68: Something Academy

Finding a survivor shelter was a pressing matter, but Shen Mo also wanted to figure out what exactly happened in Yangzhou City.

He drove his car, following the two boys until they arrived at a school.

The school sign was missing a few pieces, leaving a few barely recognizable large characters: Yang… Academy.

Shen Mo drove inside.

The car moved slowly, while the boys ran in a hurry. They jogged towards the dormitory building, and some students came out of the dormitory to greet them. There was also a female teacher, in her thirties or forties, who looked tall and thin, gentle and decent.

The two boys rushed to the female teacher and pointed towards Shen Mo while talking to her.

Shen Mo: "…"

Tan Xiao laughed and said, "Hey! These little brats are snitching on us?"

The female teacher glanced at them, seemingly apprehensive, and then shepherded the group of students into the dormitory building.

Shen Mo parked the car downstairs and said, "Let's rest here for a while. Tan Xiao, unload the stuff, and then we'll go find some gasoline later."

Tan Xiao responded and jumped out of the car swiftly. He then asked, "Where should I move the stuff to?"

"First floor, pick two dormitories." Shen Mo casually pointed, then took the wheelchair out of the car.

Old Mr. Cheng also helped carry some small items.

As they moved in and out, a dozen students crowded on the railings of the third and fourth-floor corridors, craning their necks to look. Their eyes held both curiosity and vigilance, like a group of wild cats startled by passersby, their bodies unnecessarily tense.

When Shen Mo carried Bai Youwei and placed her in the wheelchair, a faint gasp came from upstairs, as if they had seen something astonishing.

Bai Youwei, who was already in a bad mood, was further enraged when she heard this. She immediately looked up and glared at them fiercely—

"What are you looking at! Never seen a cripple before?! Keep looking, and I'll dig your eyeballs out!"

Several timid students backed away repeatedly.

Bai Youwei then pointed at Tan Xiao and said, "Didn't you say yesterday that you didn't kill enough? Go up and slaughter them!"

The students' faces changed drastically, and they scattered like startled crows! Then came a few bangs of closing doors as they all hid in their dorms and locked the doors!

Tan Xiao: "???"

Shen Mo: "…"

Old Mr. Cheng was anxious and hurriedly shouted upstairs, "Oh, don't be afraid, we were just joking! We are not bad people…"

Bai Youwei smiled sinisterly, "Yes, just kidding. Mr. Cheng, you must coax them out and let Tan Xiao slaughter them all!"

Old Mr. Cheng: "…"

"Alright, stop it." Shen Mo's tone was flat, with a hint of helplessness.

He pushed Bai Youwei into the student dormitory and said in a conciliatory tone, "Didn't you say you didn't get enough sleep? I'll get your mattress down. You can rest for a while."

Bai Youwei snorted coldly, "Forget it, this kind of bunk bed can't even fit my mattress."

Shen Mo looked around the dormitory. "We can put the two beds together."

Bai Youwei glanced at him, her mood seemingly less gloomy. She raised her chin arrogantly and said, "Alright, put them together now."

When Shen Mo came out of the dormitory, Old Mr. Cheng was anxiously pacing back and forth outside. As soon as he saw Shen Mo, he hurried forward and said, "Xiao Shen, look at this…"

Shen Mo knew what Old Mr. Cheng wanted to say and said, "I'll go upstairs and explain to them later. Don't worry."

After a pause, he added, "Don't take what she said earlier to heart."

"No, no." Old Mr. Cheng waved his hands hurriedly. "I know Weiwei meant no harm. She's a good girl…"

Shen Mo: "…"

No, she still had some malice.

At this moment, footsteps came from the other end of the stairs. The two looked up and saw that it was the female teacher.

She was carrying a jar in her hand. She walked up to Shen Mo and Old Mr. Cheng and smiled apologetically. "I'm so sorry, my students are impulsive and misunderstood you."

She handed the jar over. "This is freshly cooked vegetable porridge. If you don't mind, please take it."
