Chapter 373: Day Four

The stone walls were tightly shut—

A suppressed cry of pain came from Su Man in the torture chamber, then silence.

No one knew what was happening to her.

The witch's chair, the iron maiden, the brazen bull, the Judas cradle, the scavenger's daughter, the Catherine wheel, the saw torture… seven instruments of torture, each of which could only bring nightmares to a woman.

The empty corridor was silent.

All sounds were swallowed in their throats…

Zhu Zhu covered her face with both hands, her body trembling violently, tears falling silently.

Bai Youwei sat on the ground with her back against the wall, panting with her head lowered, not saying a word.

Yu Yaqing also sat on the ground, holding her injured hand, silently staring at the end of the corridor.

She thought of Hu Ya's death, thought of their current situation, thought of the future of this world… all that remained in her heart was bewilderment.

This night was particularly difficult to endure.

They stayed outside the torture chamber, no longer hearing Su Man's voice.

Yu Yaqing secretly prayed in her heart, hoping that Su Man had already found an opportunity to end her own life, which would be better than being tortured by the instruments.

She got up and helped Bai Youwei up, and said to Bai Youwei and Zhu Zhu:

"Su Man bought us another day, we can't waste it in vain. Let's go back to our rooms to rest now, and then think of a new way."

They had thought that they would continue to be depressed, or even break down emotionally, but they didn't.

Although tears were still flowing, Zhu Zhu silently stood up and walked towards the stairs step by step.

They returned to the first floor.

In the hall, the floor was covered with broken crystal.

Hu Ya was crushed under the huge crystal chandelier, silently, her figure invisible.

They walked through the hall and returned to the bride's room, knowing that they should rest, but unable to fall asleep.

Zhu Zhu sat on the edge of the bed, still unable to stop crying. Yu Yaqing did not try to comfort her, some grief might be better released…

The door creaked open.

Yu Yaqing looked up and saw Bai Youwei standing at the door with her crutches, about to go out.

"Bai Youwei…" Yu Yaqing stood up.

Before she could speak, Bai Youwei said in a low voice:

"I want to be alone for a while."

Her long hair was loose, covering half of her cheek, and her bangs hung down between her eyebrows, the shadows heavy, making it impossible for Yu Yaqing to see her face or expression.

She stared at Bai Youwei.

She could understand that Bai Youwei must be feeling bad now, and she wanted to say something to comfort her—it's okay, don't feel guilty, don't be sad, your method was agreed upon by everyone, even if it's wrong, it's not your responsibility alone… Su Man won't blame us… everyone has tried their best…

Alas…

How pale words were.

Yu Yaqing couldn't open her mouth, every sentence she organized in her mind made her feel so shallow, so powerless.

In the end, she silently sat back down.

Bai Youwei opened the door and walked out with her crutches.

No one slept all night.

In the morning, they gathered in the dining room, gnawing on tasteless dry bread, each of them so silent that they couldn't see a trace of vitality.

The Supervisor smiled as he looked at them.

"There are only three brides left, it seems that tomorrow morning's breakfast will have to be reduced."

No one paid attention to it.

Bai Youwei ate in silence, not knowing if she was in a daze or thinking, she seemed to have completely not heard its words.

The comic book pretty boy found it boring. He wanted to gloat, but the other party didn't react, and his ridicule seemed meaningless.

After eating a simple breakfast, Bai Youwei stood up with her crutches.

Zhu Zhu and Yu Yaqing followed her.

The Supervisor was slightly stunned and blurted out, "Where are you going?"

Bai Youwei stopped, slowly turned around, and looked at it.

The Supervisor couldn't help but feel a little curious, suspiciously staring at her eyes… dark, quiet, like a bottomless well, without light, without wind, without any emotional fluctuations.

Just as it was about to ask, Bai Youwei suddenly spoke.

She said, "If the reward for this game can't satisfy me, then you must be… trash."
