The door opened, revealing an interior as gruesome as the exterior, filled with flesh chunks in shades of pink and red. Purplish, thick veins crisscrossed the operating table. Large, blood-red tumors hung from the walls. There were no windows, the air was stagnant, and a thick, nauseating stench of blood permeated the room.

Shen Mo walked inside. The room was silent.

He acutely detected a faint, ragged breathing sound. His brows furrowed slightly as he steadily walked towards the source.

As he reached the end of the long operating table, the breathing grew clearer and more rapid, almost turning into a heavy panting.

When Shen Mo rounded the corner of the table, the panting abruptly transformed into a tangible scream!

“Aaaahhhh!!! Don’t come closer! … Don’t come closer! Don’t come closer!” a man shouted in terror.

Shen Mo lowered the dagger in his hand, his brows furrowing even deeper.

Huddled beneath the operating table was a man, staring at him with eyes filled with fear.

The man appeared to be around thirty years old, wearing a common white shirt and a suit jacket draped over his legs. He seemed injured, slumped against the ground, unable to move. Only his hands flailed in front of him as he repeatedly shrieked:

“Don’t come closer! Go away! … All of you, go away! Don’t come closer! …”

Hearing the commotion, everyone outside rushed in.

Seeing so many people, the man’s expression became even more panicked. His lips trembled uncontrollably as he stared at them with fear and tension.

Teacher Cheng asked Shen Mo with concern, “What’s going on? Is he a survivor of the maze? Why is he hiding in such a place…?”

Tan Xiao also crouched down and asked the man, “Hey! Quickly tell us what’s going on in this maze. Where’s the exit?”

The man looked at them with uncertainty, his face covered in cold sweat, unable to speak.

Seeing that he seemed injured, Tan Xiao reached out and lifted the blood-stained suit jacket from his legs. “…Are you injured somewhere?”

“Don’t touch me!!!” the man suddenly yelled.

Tan Xiao recoiled in shock, staring wide-eyed. “Is this guy scared out of his wits? He seems like a lunatic.”

Cheng Weicai also felt the same, saying to Shen Mo, “He’s probably traumatized, a bit crazy… I’m afraid we won’t be able to get any clues from him.”

Shen Mo frowned, looking at the man on the ground. After a moment of silence, he asked coldly, “Who are you? Why are you here?”

The man stared at him nervously. Somehow, he gradually calmed down, his voice hoarse. “You… Are you here to collect puzzle pieces? I… I am too! … My companions were eaten by that snake outside! Now I’m the only one left…”

Shen Mo asked, “When did you enter the maze?”

A look of confusion crossed the man’s face. He murmured, “Four or five days? … Three or four days? I don’t know… There’s nothing in this place. I don’t know how many days have passed…”

Shen Mo frowned and continued to ask, “Do you know anything about that snake outside?”

The man’s expression changed, his eyes revealing extreme fear.

“That… That snake…” He swallowed hard, his voice trembling. “It’s… a Gluttonous… Snake. It… It grows longer and bigger. Don’t let it eat you… Be careful. If it eats you, it’s over…”

Before he could finish his words, a faint tremor ran through the ground beneath their feet.

“It’s coming again!” The man’s pupils constricted sharply. “Close the door! Don’t let it find this place!!!”

The tremors quickly intensified. Teacher Cheng exclaimed in panic, “Weiwei is still outside!”

Bai Youwei, due to her limited mobility and her dislike of the kitchen’s smell, had not followed them inside.

Shen Mo’s brows furrowed. He turned and rushed out!

He saw Bai Youwei sitting by the window, seemingly unconcerned, looking outside.

He quickly strode over and scooped her up into his arms. The house shook violently! There was no time to explain. Before the stronger tremors hit, they quickly ducked under the dining table—.
