Chapter 264: A Sigh of Relief

Su Man, wearing a puffy skirt with a dark red base and black lace trim, tugged hard at the whip in her hand and said with disgust, “How can I fight dressed like this? Even going upstairs is difficult!”

Yan Qingwen said, “We can’t leave too many people on the first floor. The space is too small, and if there are too many people, it will be difficult to dodge. Su Man, take Li Li upstairs.”

Shen Mo thought for a moment and looked at Tan Xiao. “You go too.”

Cheng Laoshi was very worried. “In that case, won’t there be too few helpers downstairs?”

“It’s enough,” Bai Youwei said. “I’ll take the teddy bears in a moment. All of you stay away, so you don’t get hurt by the props. If the teddy bears still don’t work, I’ll use the jigsaw puzzle to leave the game before the bear pounces. The rest of you are responsible for restraining it and preventing it from going to the second floor to hurt anyone.”

After a pause, she glanced at the music box not far away and continued, “However, I don’t think there’s a high chance of anything going wrong. If there was a problem with the teddy bears, the Overseer wouldn’t have answered so readily just now.”

The crystal ball remained on top of the music box, quiet and refusing to speak.

The people in the room looked at each other. They had all witnessed the power of Bai Youwei’s prop. If it were her, perhaps she really could do it.

Yan Qingwen handed the two small bears to Bai Youwei.

Shen Mo picked up the rabbit charging by the fireplace, walked to Bai Youwei’s side, and gently placed it on her lap.

The rabbit, having dried by the fire all night, was completely dry and still carried the warmth of the hearth. It sat motionless on Bai Youwei’s lap, together with the two teddy bears, as if it were just an ordinary plush toy.

Bai Youwei stroked the fur on its ears and said to Shen Mo, “Push me to the door.”

Hearing this, the others exchanged glances and went to the second floor and attic to find places to hide.

Without much hesitation, Bai Youwei said to the door, “Guest, please come in.”

The door creaked open once more.

The mother bear sat crouched at the doorway. After receiving permission from its owner, it straightened its massive and burly body and swayed as it walked in.

So close, the oppressive feeling of the behemoth looming over them was even stronger than before. The sunlight at the door was almost completely blocked by the beast, its shadow engulfing Bai Youwei.

The beast’s foul odor permeated the air, and she couldn’t help but frown.

The mother bear lowered its head and approached, its breath so pungent that she wanted to close her eyes. She gritted her teeth and endured, holding out the two teddy bears in her hands.

The bear sniffed the cubs in her arms and suddenly roared!

Bai Youwei’s heart skipped a beat, and then she saw it raise its paws!

Shen Mo, on the other side, gripped the fruit knife in his hand!

Yan Qingwen grabbed him and whispered, “Wait and see.”

Two sturdy bear paws reached towards Bai Youwei! With a thump, they embraced the teddy bears in her hands!

“Roar!…”

The mother bear roared!

It was unclear whether it was happy about the return of its lost cubs or scolding them for running away from home.

Hugging the two teddy bears, it turned around contentedly, then slowly walked out of the house—down the slope, into the woods…and disappeared.

Shen Mo and Yan Qingwen both breathed a sigh of relief. Although they were 70-80% sure before the action, they still couldn’t help but panic when they saw the bear raise its paws.

…Finally, it was over.

“Our deduction was correct. The first time the guest went berserk was because we didn’t change into the dollhouse clothes,” Yan Qingwen said. “It seems that, in the guest’s perception, if the players don’t change into the clothes, they aren’t considered the owners of the dollhouse, but more like strange intruders, a kind of enemy.”

After speaking, he smiled wryly and sighed. “I didn’t expect the clothes to have such a hidden meaning. Did the Overseer deliberately conceal this, wanting us to witness the guest going berserk?”
