v2c4: The White Moonlight of the Sickly CEO (Live Stream) [4]

Six o'clock, Kailuo Hotel.

Su Tang followed the waiter to the designated private room. Upon entering, she was surprised to find it almost empty.

She paused, and the waiter offered a polite smile. "Your order has been placed, guest. Please take a seat, and we'll serve the dishes shortly."

Su Tang didn't immediately sit down. The room was excessively luxurious, and its size didn't seem suitable for a gathering. As far as she could see, there were only two chairs.

"Excuse me, I think I might be in the wrong place."

Just as she spoke, the door behind her opened. She turned around, a flicker of astonishment in her eyes, quickly replaced by a frown.

Huo Fei stood at the door, dressed in a dark suit, his posture straight. He used to smile often, radiating warmth, but now, only a deep solemnity remained.

"Sister, long time no see." He curled his lip, his gaze tinged with disdain and disgust, yet a closer look revealed a flicker of something else.

Huo Fei was undeniably handsome, with sharp eyebrows and defined features. It had only been a year since their last encounter, yet his aura had undergone a complete transformation.

Jiang Yu was six months older than him. He rarely addressed her as "sister" before, usually calling her "Little Fishy" affectionately.

"Mr. Huo, you've mistaken me for someone else. I don't deserve such a title." Her face remained impassive as she turned to leave. However, the door was blocked, forcing her to stop before him. "Could you please step aside, Mr. Huo?"

Compared to Huo Fei, Su Tang was petite. She only reached his shoulder and had to tilt her head up to meet his eyes. This simple gesture unexpectedly brought back memories for him.

It was like a pebble disturbing the surface of a still lake, creating ripples that spread outward.

He should hate her. She had given him the most beautiful memories, only to rip them apart. With the illusion shattered, only endless pain remained. Initially, he couldn't even bear to recall the past, for the sweeter the memory, the crueler the reality. It was why, upon returning to the Huo family, he had thrown himself into a vengeful frenzy, his reckless actions shocking everyone. They called him a mad dog, the stray dog of the Huo family. The Huo family prided themselves on their century-old lineage, their elegance and nobility, yet none of it was reflected in him.

The pain spread through his heart once more.

And it was all thanks to her.

A year ago, she told him she never wanted to see him again. He had honored her wish, trying to move on. But as time passed, the desire for revenge only intensified within him. He still had unfinished business with the Huo family and hadn't planned on seeing her so soon. Yet, here she was, standing before him, completely denying their past as if he was something dirty, unworthy of even a mention.

Ignoring her words, Huo Fei stared at her with dark eyes. "Didn't you say you were tired of living like a cockroach? Why are you back in the cockroach nest, continuing your pathetic existence?"

Su Tang's face paled. She pressed her lips together, but her silence didn't stop Huo Fei.

He stepped closer, backing her towards the wall, before saying casually, "Ah, right. Some things never change. Money can't erase your true nature. A cockroach will always be a cockroach, carrying those disgusting genes."

His words were incredibly insulting. Su Tang swayed slightly, her face pale. She kept her head lowered, but her voice held a hint of defiance. "Then it must be tough for Mr. Huo, being stuck in a room with a cockroach."

"After ten years together, I can endure this brief encounter." Huo Fei walked towards the chair and sat down. Seeing Su Tang still standing by the door, he continued, "Do you need me to invite you to sit, Miss Jiang?"

He no longer called her "sister" in that mocking tone, but the indifference in his voice when he addressed her as "Miss Jiang" was bone-chilling.

Su Tang kept her back to him. "No, thank you. I wouldn't dare to overstep. I'll be on my way." She turned and made to leave.

Huo Fei didn't rush her. He spoke slowly, "Shouldn't you be more respectful towards your boss, Miss Jiang, considering I'm the owner of Banana Live?"

Su Tang stopped in her tracks, disbelief and absurdity washing over her.

Seemingly amused by her reaction, Huo Fei asked with a smile, "Don't believe me?"

Su Tang's face, pale to begin with, had turned even whiter. She stared at him, her heart pounding, yet forcing herself to remain calm. "Do you really find this amusing, Mr. Huo?"

Huo Fei relished the feeling of pushing her to the edge. He smiled, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. "Of course, I do. Miss Jiang, you are my biggest benefactor. Naturally, I must treat you with the utmost patience." He picked up the red wine and poured her a glass. "Please, have a seat, Miss Jiang."

Su Tang bit her lip, staring at him silently. In the end, she relented. She walked towards him and sat across from him.

The red wine shimmered in the glass, its color vibrant under the light. However, Su Tang had lost her appetite. She just wanted this unpleasant dinner to end quickly.

"What exactly do you want, Mr. Huo?"

Her demeanor pleased him. "Miss Jiang, we haven't seen each other in so long. Shouldn't we catch up? Or is it that you look down on me so much that you can't even stomach having dinner with me?" He paused, anticipating another biting remark, and continued, "But what can we do? You are now my employee. If you find even having dinner with me repulsive, how are we going to work together?"

Su Tang took a deep breath. He was the male lead with a 100% blackening value, after all. His words dripped with malice, making her want to punch him.

"I want to terminate the contract."

"Terminate the contract?" Huo Fei's lips curled into a slow smile. "Can you afford the penalty, Miss Jiang?"

Su Tang bit her lip. "How much?"

"I admire your straightforwardness, Miss Jiang. Considering our past, I'll give you a discount: ten million." Huo Fei was certain she didn't have that kind of money. The Huo family had only given her five million, and rumor had it that she had squandered a million in just a few days on bags and shoes.

He scoffed. He had been so blind before. How could he not have seen her vanity?

Su Tang indeed didn't have that much money. Most of her earnings from streaming had gone into renovating the old house. She had spared no expense, using the best materials, leaving her with little savings.

"I can pay you in installments."

Huo Fei laughed as if she had told a joke. "Installments? Why should I trust you? Miss Jiang, do you think you have any credibility left with me?"

There was no point in arguing further. Su Tang was at his mercy. She looked up, meeting his gaze, her black eyes filled with a suppressed emotion. "Just tell me what you want."

Such a cliché plot straight out of those old romance novels. But why do authors love using it so much? Hahaha.
