v2c10: The White Moonlight of the Sickly CEO (Live Stream) [10]

"Answer it!" Huo Fei's voice was cold, but the phone belonged to Su Tang, so the assistant could only hand the bag to her.

Su Tang was in bad shape. She hadn't eaten much in the past two days and could barely stand just now. Even opening the bag took a lot of effort.

Huo Fei had no patience. Seeing this, he directly opened the bag for her. But the moment he took out the phone, his eyes fell on a box of medicine. He froze for a moment, then took the medicine out.

The box clearly read "Nitroglycerin." The doctor beside them was surprised: "This is medicine for heart disease. Miss Jiang knew about her condition?"

Huo Fei's gaze gradually darkened, but Su Tang ignored them. She glanced at the phone. The number seemed familiar. If she remembered correctly, it should be Old Madam Huo's.

"Hello."

"Jiang Yu, you dare seduce Huo Fei?" Old Madam Huo's voice suddenly rose, sharp and piercing. "Don't you want the money anymore?"

Su Tang said lazily, "I do. You transfer the money to me now, and I'll leave immediately."

Huo Fei looked at her deeply, the anger in his eyes gradually rising. He slammed the phone to the ground, gritting his teeth. "Jiang Yu, if you want money, I have it too. Why go through so much trouble?"

Su Tang laughed. Her smile was faint, like a fragile porcelain doll, easily broken with a light touch.

"No, I find it disgusting."

She was like a demon, saying such hurtful words with a smile on her face.

The doctors exchanged glances. They felt that they couldn't stay any longer. If they angered Mr. Huo, they wouldn't be like this little girl.

Soon, only the two of them were left in the ward.

Although Su Tang woke up, she was very tired, thirsty, and hungry. She could only get out of bed again, intending to order takeout with her phone. But before she could even get off the bed, someone stopped her.

Huo Fei's heart was in turmoil, more chaotic than it was a year ago.

He stared at her blankly and asked hoarsely, "When did you find out?"

Su Tang replied, "Mr. Huo, it's none of your business."

"I want to know."

Su Tang thought for a moment and smiled again. It was as if she was no longer stingy with him, smiling at him twice in just half an hour.

"Not long ago. Otherwise, I might have continued to use you. After all, CEO Huo's adopted sister can't be dismissed with just five million." As she spoke, she seemed to have thought of something, her eyes lighting up with a hint of joy. "But it doesn't matter anymore. Old Madam Huo will transfer the money to me soon. It's all money, and I don't have to deal with you every day. How nice."

Huo Fei's heart was stabbed repeatedly, each blow coming from the same person. But he couldn't muster any hatred. All he could think about were the doctor's words: if diagnosed, she would only have four years left…

"Enough!" Not wanting to hear those hurtful words anymore, he took a deep breath, trying his best to keep his tone neutral. "I'll have my assistant bring some food over."

Su Tang scoffed. "Mr. Huo, do you have a penchant for self-torture? I don't like you, and you've already had your revenge. How about this, I'll transfer the ownership of the old mansion to you now. Anyway, I have money and no need to keep that shabby house."

Her words were like stepping on his chest, suffocating him and almost driving him mad.

He stared at her, his eyes sharp and cold. But the girl wasn't afraid of him at all, or rather, she hadn't looked him in the eye from the beginning. They were clearly in the same room, but he couldn't reach her.

He wanted to ask if she had a heart, but in the end, he didn't ask anything and stormed out of the room.

Once he left, Su Tang opened her eyes. She struggled out of bed, picked up her phone and bag, and walked towards the door.

She walked with some difficulty, but fortunately, Huo Fei didn't seem to expect her to run away and didn't have anyone watching her.

She stumbled along, found a random hotel, ate something haphazardly, and collapsed onto the bed.

The hospital was in an uproar after she left. The assistant returned with food, only to find an empty bed. A chill ran down his spine. He immediately asked the hospital to check the surveillance footage and saw her leaving slowly and unsteadily.

He didn't know why, but her back alone looked extremely pitiful.

Not daring to delay, the assistant immediately called Huo Fei. Fortunately, Su Tang didn't go far. Within an hour, they found the small hotel where she was staying.

Huo Fei brought people with him. When he kicked open the door of the small hotel room, he saw the girl curled up on the bed, her brows furrowed in pain, looking extremely pitiful.

At that moment, all his anger vanished. He carefully picked her up and rushed her to the hospital. When he arrived, he saw Huo Qi waiting for him.

"What's wrong?"

Huo Qi glanced at Su Tang, who had fallen unconscious again, and fell silent for a moment before saying, "There's something I think I need to tell you."

Huo Fei handed Su Tang over to the doctor. After the doctor checked and confirmed that there was nothing serious, he took Huo Qi outside.

Outside the ward, Huo Qi hesitated for a moment before handing over a document. "I thought something was strange before, so I took the liberty of investigating a little." He saw Huo Fei take the document and continued, "This is the orphanage's remittance record, and behind it is the second-hand luxury goods transaction record. Because it's second-hand, a luxury item worth one million was sold for six hundred thousand."

Huo Fei held the document. It was only a single sheet of paper, but it felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. He looked at the name on the remittance record, his knuckles turning white as he clenched his fists.

Huo Qi sighed. "The Huo family gave her five million, but she didn't take a single cent. I don't know what happened back then, but if Jiang Yu really loved money, she wouldn't have done these things. Also, I found out that Old Madam Huo contacted her recently."

They knew exactly what kind of person Old Madam Huo was.

Huo Fei took a deep breath, his chest filled with a continuous ache that rendered him speechless.

Everything he had believed turned out to be a lie. But before he could even feel relieved, he was struck by the thought of her illness. He hated his cowardly self from back then. The moment Su Tang pushed him away, he believed it all. He had been busy this past year, but it didn't mean he didn't have time to investigate. He was just escaping, thinking that he would wait until he had completely crushed the Huo family before teaching her a lesson.

He always thought he was calm and collected, but when she reappeared before him, he still lost control. He had taught her a lesson, but reality had slapped him hard in the face.

The one who truly had no heart was him.

The thin paper in his hand was now crumpled. The blood drained from his face as he leaned against the wall, like a trapped beast, his voice hoarse. "Thank you."

Huo Qi replied, "No need to thank me. Your mother helped my family once, consider this my way of repaying the favor. I have something to attend to at the company, I'll be going back now." He added with a hint of worry, "Call me if anything comes up."
