Chapter 310: Help! I Stole the Male Lead's Fiancée! 4

Su Tang's expression was panicked, her usual languid demeanor gone. After rising from the sofa, she didn't even bother with a greeting and just rushed towards the door.

Shen Yuan watched, black energy practically radiating off him, his tone icy. "Just a short while, and Young Master Cheng can't bear to be away from my fiancée." He deliberately emphasized the words "my fiancée."

Su Tang's face darkened. She looked at him with a complicated expression, then, without a word, turned to leave.

Shen Yuan exploded. He reached out and grabbed her, his voice laced with frost. "Where do you think you're going?"

Su Tang was also furious. Unable to shake off his grip, she simply let him hold her, but the anger in her voice was unmistakable. "She's been in a car accident!"

This man had just talked about hitting her with his car, and right after, she had a car accident. No matter how she looked at it, this matter couldn't be unrelated to him.

Shen Yuan froze. "You suspect I did it?"

Su Tang was about to speak when the system hurriedly interjected: "Kid, misunderstanding, misunderstanding! It wasn't the Male Lead!"

Su Tang deflated like a punctured balloon. She said dryly, "It wasn't the Male Lead?"

The system replied, "Yeah, just a normal car accident."

Su Tang felt awkward, her momentum considerably diminished. She mumbled, "I didn't suspect you did it. It's just that she was in a car accident, and I need to see her."

Shen Yuan's face was grim, clearly unconvinced. "I'll go with you."

Su Tang wanted to refuse, but he continued, "After all, she is my fiancée."

There it was again, the emphasis on "my fiancée." Su Tang was certain this running gag wasn't going away anytime soon.

She even considered just returning his fiancée to him, but the thought only lasted a second before being dismissed. His fiancée was her. Returning herself to him? Was she tired of living, or was life simply not exciting enough?

"Mr. Shen, you also said 'just' a fiancée. Arranged marriages aren't exactly fashionable these days."

She stammered, hoping he would drop the idea. Unfortunately, her words only poked at his sore spot.

"What belongs to Shen Yuan, even if I don't want it, is not for others to touch."

His gloomy voice sent chills down Su Tang's spine.

"Say what you want! I don't acknowledge it anyway!" The young master was like an angry, hissing kitten, his fury lacking any real menace and even making one want to pet him.

However, the fact that her anger was directed at that woman greatly displeased Shen Yuan.

"Heh, whether you acknowledge it or not is not up to you." He finished, then lifted his cool eyelids. "Are you going or not?"

Su Tang choked back her words, finally muttering, "Of course, I'm going."

At the hospital.

The fake fiancée was actually alright. Although there seemed to be a lot of blood, upon seeing Su Tang, she acted as if she'd found her anchor. The fortitude she had been feigning instantly crumbled, and her large eyes began to well up with tears. "Ye Zi, it was so scary! I thought I was going to meet God."

The fake fiancée knew Su Tang was a girl, so they interacted more like close friends.

This tone was perfectly normal between friends, but to Shen Yuan, it was incredibly jarring.

Almost met God? I wish she would meet God right now.

Seeing that she was mostly unharmed, Su Tang breathed a sigh of relief. "It's okay. Where's the driver who hit you? What are you going to do about this? Forget it, I'll just find you a lawyer."

The young woman was introverted and often didn't dare to stand up for her own rights. Su Tang felt bad that the girl had incurred the wrath of a powerful figure because of her and wanted to offer some compensation.

"Wouldn't that be too much trouble? Maybe…"

Before she could finish, Su Tang cut her off. "No trouble at all. It's decided. You stay in the hospital; I'll hire a nurse to take care of you."

She acted swiftly and efficiently, quickly arranging everything.

Shen Yuan watched her bustling around, attending to the fake fiancée just as she had once cared for him. He was practically consumed by jealousy. He barely managed to contain himself until the end, and before she could even say goodbye, he grabbed her and left the hospital without looking back.

Su Tang didn't dare complain; after all, she had done everything she needed to do.

"Is she that good?"

Seeing Shen Yuan's gloomy expression, Su Tang was genuinely afraid he would do something terrible to the fake fiancée. She could only say, "She's pretty good."

Hearing this, a faint, almost imperceptible curve appeared at the corner of Shen Yuan's thin lips. It was impossible to tell if it was a smile or a sneer.

He wanted to say that he had treated her extremely well in the past, but what was the result? She was like a stray kitten he could never tame, easily lured away by others. Had she ever considered his feelings?

The two were clearly not on the same wavelength. After all the commotion, Su Tang was starving. Ignoring the fact that she was in Shen Yuan's home, she saw the crawfish on the table and, without hesitation, put on disposable gloves and began to eat.

Shen Yuan didn't eat; he just opened a bottle of beer.

At first, the atmosphere was awkward. However, perhaps because she was finally full, Su Tang relaxed. They chatted like old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while.

"Did you have a good year when you returned to the country?"

Shen Yuan's hand, holding the beer, paused. He looked at her coolly. "Do you care?"

Su Tang: …

This man was truly skilled; he could kill a conversation with a single sentence.

Su Tang said, "We know each other. I know I wronged you in that matter." She removed her disposable gloves, picked up her beer, and toasted him. "Can we let go of this fiancée thing?"

Shen Yuan looked at her. Because of the spicy food, Su Tang's lips were like rose petals, a vibrant, beautiful red. Shen Yuan stared, his gaze unwavering. After a long moment, he gave a strained smile. "If I say I can't let it go, Cheng Ye, what will you do? Break up with her, or break up with me?"

When he said this, Su Tang felt something was odd, particularly his word choice.

Could her relationship with him even be called breaking up?

Su Tang pursed her lips. Unsure how to answer, she simply took a sip of beer and, like a scoundrel, chose to avoid the question. "Shen Yuan, can't we just be like before?"

Shen Yuan replied, "We can't go back."

Su Tang almost blurted out, Is a fiancée you've never even met worth all this fuss?

But she didn't dare because, upon closer examination, this whole situation was her fault.

As a friend, regardless of whether he liked his fiancée or not, she shouldn't have stolen her. If it were anyone else, a beating would be considered lenient.

Thinking of this, her mind suddenly cleared. Oh right, he's so angry. Maybe I should let him hit me to vent his anger?

"Then tell me, how can I make you not angry?" Su Tang put down her beer, as if making a major decision. "How about you hit me?"

Shen Yuan looked at her, stunned. "Why would I hit you?"

She had angered him so much, yet he couldn't even bring himself to speak harshly to her, let alone hit her.

Su Tang pouted. "But aren't you angry?"
