Chapter 308: Help! I Stole the Male Lead's Fiancée! 2

Su Tang opened her mouth, finding herself at a loss for words for the first time. In a foreign land, a young man sat helplessly and pitifully by the lake. She had no interest in appreciating the beautiful scenery before her, feeling utterly irritated. Finally, in frustration, she kicked a stone at her feet.

With a plop, the stone fell into the lake, creating ripples.

“Forget it, I’m a little hungry. I’ll go get something to eat first.” She said, rising from the chair. But just as she moved, someone else sat down beside her.

The man was in a suit and leather shoes, looking like an elite from an office building. But with just one glance, Su Tang sensed danger.

She abruptly backed away, but as she did, several burly men suddenly appeared in the previously empty surroundings. They wore identical clothing and their target was clear.

She narrowed her eyes. The male lead had only been gone for a year. She hadn't made any enemies during this time.

“Dog, whose men are these?”

System: “The male lead’s.”

Su Tang gasped. She hadn't figured out how to face him yet, and he was already making a move!

“Young Master Cheng, my master would like to invite you for a drink.” The bodyguard smiled, but his posture made it clear that if she refused, they would directly carry her away.

Since the male lead had already come to her, trying to escape was unrealistic. So, Su Tang took a deep breath, maintaining her outward composure, and calmly said, “Alright, since your master has sent so many people to invite me, it would be rude of me to decline his kind offer.”

The bodyguard ignored the sarcasm in her words, continuing to smile as he ushered her into the car.

As soon as Su Tang got into the car, she met a pair of dark, deep eyes. The other party looked at her with a faint smile. At that moment, she felt like she had fallen into an ice cellar.

Cold, bone-chilling cold, making her shiver.

However, she couldn't lose her composure in front of others.

So, she took the initiative to speak, “Mr. Shen, long time no see.”

She deliberately lowered her voice, neither as sweet and charming as a young girl's nor as deep and husky as an adult man's. It had the clean quality of a sixteen-year-old boy's, which, combined with her face, made her appear somewhat androgynous.

Their eyes met, and Shen Yuan curled his lips, a hint of mockery in his voice. “It’s been a year, Young Master Cheng has become quite distant. So, how is it? Is my fiancée… useful?”

Unlike Su Tang’s youthful appearance, Shen Yuan, though the same age, was clearly much more mature. He wore a well-tailored suit, and although he exuded an aura of aloofness, he was undeniably handsome, with sharp features and a chiseled face. Ordinarily, people would be vying for his attention, but now, Su Tang just wanted to stay far away.

She felt like she was sitting on pins and needles, especially after his words.

What did he mean by "Is my fiancée useful?" Was a fiancée something to be used?

“Mr. Shen, she has a name.” Su Tang spoke slowly, her mind racing to figure out how to respond.

Shen Yuan scoffed. “So protective. Seems she is indeed very useful.”

Su Tang wanted to punch him. She clenched her fists, holding back her anger before finally regaining her composure. “Mr. Shen, you’re a busy man. You needn’t concern yourself with certain people.”

As soon as she said this, Shen Yuan's expression darkened visibly. He looked at her, the malice in his eyes unconcealed. “Feeling distressed now?”

Su Tang pursed her lips, remaining silent. She tried to recall the past. At first, she genuinely considered his feelings, but later, as the mission neared completion, she started to let loose. At that time, she had two identities and, too lazy to switch back and forth, she hired someone with a high commission to impersonate her.

Most of the people in the sanatorium were foreigners, and their impressions of Asians were vague. Moreover, the original host's mother had specifically arranged for the staff around her to be replaced every three months. So, in the end, Su Tang simply found a girl who looked somewhat similar to occasionally show up at the sanatorium.

Later, the girl learned about Su Tang’s situation and sympathized with her. Gradually, the two became friends.

Su Tang’s silence was equivalent to a tacit admission.

She admitted that she cared about that woman, and even more, that the woman was more important to her than he was.

As soon as Shen Yuan thought of this, the anger within him surged uncontrollably. He had spent a year suppressing the Shen family, a year numbing himself, and a year giving her time to return. Now, the year was up, the Shen family was no longer a threat, and yet she hadn't even called.

All those days and nights they spent together meant less to her than that sickly woman.

Shen Yuan sneered, “Young Master Cheng, what do you think would happen if I had someone floor the gas pedal right now? Do you think your sickly girlfriend would be able to handle it, or would she just close her eyes and ascend to heaven?”

Su Tang was startled. Looking up, she saw that the girl impersonating her had somehow appeared on the road. She was holding a piece of bread in one hand and talking on the phone with the other, completely unaware of the approaching danger.

It would be perfectly normal for a completely blackened, psychotic male lead to have someone floor it, especially in this world. Although it was labeled as an ordinary world, it was filled with gunfights, gangs, and military elements, so killing someone or bombing a city was commonplace.

“Mr. Shen, she doesn’t know anything. Why make things difficult for a girl?” As she finished speaking, the phone in her pocket rang. She paused, not taking it out. Shen Yuan, however, seemed intrigued.

“Answer it,” he said. “If Young Master Cheng doesn’t answer, are you waiting for me to answer it for you?”

Su Tang glanced at him and reluctantly took out her phone. The caller ID showed it was the girl. She hesitated before finally pressing the answer button.

“Hello? I’m not coming home for dinner tonight. Yeah, something came up. You get some rest.” She tried to keep her voice steady, sounding no different from usual. The other party didn’t suspect anything and quickly hung up.

Su Tang didn’t dare relax, afraid that the psychopath would actually hit the girl. Fortunately, he wasn’t that insane yet. After they had completely passed the girl, she remembered to put her phone back in her pocket.

Shen Yuan watched her movements, a cold smile playing on his lips. “Young Master Cheng, young and full of vigor, how could a sickly girl satisfy you? Do you need me to introduce you to some people?”

Su Tang’s lips twitched, and she fell silent.

She had been too playful in her youth, constantly boasting, thinking that normal interactions between boys involved either trying to get the other to call you "daddy" or proving one's prowess in certain areas.

Su Tang didn’t dare ask him to call her "daddy," and she didn’t have a third leg either, but none of that mattered because she could brag.

Things like going seven rounds in one night, girls being unable to get enough of her—she had crafted an image of herself as a playboy.

But she never expected Shen Yuan to actually remember these things!

Holding back her frustration, she could only dryly refuse, “There’s no need for introductions. I’m currently cultivating my mind and body.”

Shen Yuan replied, “Cultivating your mind and body, or are you so worn out you can only hold back?” He said, his gaze drifting meaningfully towards her legs. “Young Master Cheng, don’t be embarrassed. I know a few reputable doctors. If we’re sick, we should get treatment.”

Su Tang, puffed up like a pufferfish: You’re the one who’s sick!
