Chapter 356: Bounty Hunter 4

The manor seemed to stretch on forever. Su Tang followed Satan, her feet aching, before finally catching sight of the castle.

The servants trailing behind them kept their heads lowered, but their hearts were filled with astonishment. There were carriages within the manor, necessary because the distance from the main gate to the castle was so vast. However, the servants' carriages were small and plain, and they weren't permitted to use the main road. They usually took a hidden path. Distinguished guests, or their own Prince, had dedicated carriages. Speaking of which, the Prince's behavior was utterly bizarre. If he loathed Miss Anna, why choose to walk with her? If he didn't, the fury in his eyes just moments ago still sent shivers down their spines. No, something's not right. Unusual behavior often hides a motive. The servants recalled the earlier scene.

Their Prince, with a sarcastic tone and an arrogant look, had stared at Miss Anna and said, "I forgot, our dear Miss Anna utterly despises creatures like vampires. I imagine she wouldn't deign to drink such filthy blood."

Did Su Tang want to drink? Of course, she did. But she couldn't show weakness. So, she replied, "Your Highness jests. I'm not so noble. As a mere mortal, naturally, I need blood. However…" she looked at him calmly, "I'm particular. For example, I wouldn't want to drink Your Highness's blood."

Would Satan give her his blood? Not having tormented her enough, he certainly would provide some, but he'd be mad to offer his own. Yet, things were different now.

This damned woman still looked down on him. Did she even know who he was?

If she didn't want to drink it, he would make her.

Satan's face darkened, then he twisted his lips into a near-mocking smile. "Is Miss Anna dreaming?"

Su Tang averted her gaze, her pale lips moving. Her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible, but Satan heard it.

She said, "I wish this were a dream."

Since being drugged by those sanctimonious kinsmen, she had remained calm, so calm that Satan thought she was indifferent. But now, he realized she wasn't as composed as she appeared. In fact, she was breaking down, despairing, but her pride wouldn't allow her to bow to anyone.

Just like now, after her self-deprecating laugh, she asked, "Your Highness, where will I be staying?"

Satan looked down at her, raising an eyebrow. "What do you intend to do?"

Su Tang gave a lazy smile. "Rest, of course. I've just completed my transformation. Is Your Highness so eager for me to serve you?" She emphasized the word "serve." "Or is it that, after ten years of me tending to Your Highness, you've grown accustomed to my presence and find it strange without me?"

"Clingy children aren't endearing."

Her final words echoed her past. She'd said those words before, but with a smile, and she would even affectionately tap his nose.

Satan frowned sharply, shattering the image in his mind. He scoffed, "You're here as a servant. Serving me is not your place."

Su Tang accepted this calmly. "Then where is my room?"

Furious, Satan grabbed a nearby servant. "Go, prepare the westernmost room for Miss Anna."

The servant, dressed in black and white, was accustomed to their master's volatile moods. They bowed respectfully and gestured for Su Tang to follow.

The westernmost room was practically abandoned. Although someone cleaned it regularly enough to prevent cobwebs, it had become a storage space.

After leading her there, the servant didn't overstep and quietly withdrew.

The moment the servant left, Su Tang dropped the act. She struggled to find a chair and sat down, gripping the arms. Although silent, the pain on her face was almost grotesque. Even her once pearly white teeth now sported two elongated fangs. She bit her lip hard, and because of her sharp teeth, blood welled up, staining her pale face crimson, as vibrant and fragile as her red hair.

After a while, she lifted her wrist, her sleeve sliding down to reveal her snow-white arm covered in blue veins. She stared at it for a moment before letting her arm fall heavily.

A smile touched her lips, but her eyes were icy.

Satan had followed her, hiding himself after the servant left. He watched through the broken window, his expression unreadable.

The once flamboyant and carefree bounty hunter, the dream lover of countless nobles, who admired and respected her, was now a shadow of her former self. Even her enviable red hair was disheveled.

She was like a caged animal, the former determination in her eyes gone. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, she smashed a stool with her bare hands. Splinters grazed her cheek, leaving a bloody mark, stark and alluring against her pale skin.

Satan watched for a long time. He was never patient, but this time, he remained still, observing from beginning to end. He wouldn't have revealed himself if she hadn't been on the verge of collapsing.

The door creaked open, the neglected hinges protesting loudly.

Su Tang was exhausted, like a fallen swan, her once proud neck bowed, revealing the delicate curve of her throat.

Even in her despair, she was beautiful.

In the thousand years since Satan gained his memories, he had seen countless beauties, but this one was undoubtedly the most unforgettable.

He strode in, his boots clicking against the floor, and stopped before her.

Su Tang didn't resist, her eyes closed as if to shut out the world.

Satan looked at her, then crouched down.

His voice was magnetic and alluring, especially now, as he extended an invitation.

"Do you want it?"

The question was open-ended, but Su Tang knew what he meant.

"If you want it, come here." He opened his arms.

Su Tang didn't respond, but her closed eyelids trembled slightly.

Satan was patient, holding his arms open. Time passed, and rain began to fall outside. The wind howled, slamming the broken door shut.

Lightning split the dark sky, and in Satan's black eyes, he saw her stir.

Then, a figure lunged at him, the force almost knocking him over, but he caught her.

The person in his arms trembled, her previous defiance gone.

Satan was pleased. The corners of his lips curled into a smile, his voice almost coaxing. "Come, let's drink slowly." He tilted his head back slightly.

Who could resist such an invitation? Especially Su Tang, consumed by hunger, the burning in her stomach overriding all reason. As he moved, she leaned in.

Sharp teeth grazed skin, and with a gentle pierce, delicious, rich blood filled her mouth.
