Chapter 355: Bounty Hunter 3

Despite Su Tang's confident words, putting them into practice was proving quite difficult. After all, Satan was no saint.

Satan's manor, practically a castle, was built after he'd been betrayed by a vampire ten years ago. Though Su Tang had later stabbed him, the wound wasn't deep. After a brief recovery, he returned with a vengeance, crushing the entire vampire race beneath his heel.

He had no interest in leading them, but felt his previous leniency had made him seem weak. In a fit of rage, he slaughtered nearly half of the vampire population. Now, the remaining vampires were more obedient to him than to their own Prince.

However, there was now an exception.

Unlike other vampires with their blond hair and blue eyes, Satan was a vampire with black hair and black eyes. His features were perfectly proportioned, his deep-set black eyes unfathomable. His black hair resembled the finest silk. In fact, his entire being exuded an aura of supreme authority.

And at this moment, our demon was very unhappy.

The carriage soon reached the manor. The bumpy journey, however, had allowed some sunlight to seep in. Su Tang's red hair was now scorched in several places, and similar burns marked her body and arms.

Newly transformed, Su Tang was still vulnerable and couldn't withstand the sun's rays. Now, she lay curled up in the corner of the carriage, eyes closed, looking utterly disheveled and near death.

Satan had imagined her looking this way, but seeing it in reality displeased him greatly.

"The once celebrated Lady Anna, now reduced to such a state. Your admirers would be heartbroken if they knew."

His sarcasm made Su Tang want to punch him. If only they could have a fair fight, she thought.

She adjusted her clothes. When she opened her eyes, Satan saw that despite her disheveled appearance, her gaze remained unchanged—still cold and arrogant, the kind that made one want to break her.

"We are of different races. I will advise them to give up."

Satan, taken aback, clearly hadn't expected such a response. "What do you mean?"

"I am now…," she paused for a second, her delicate brows furrowing briefly before smoothing out. "They are human. Humans and vampires have no future."

Her expression quickly returned to its usual calmness, but Satan had noticed the flicker of emotion.

Tsk, so she wasn't indifferent after all. She was just good at hiding it.

Satan's mood improved slightly. He lifted his chin haughtily, looking at her clothes with disdain. "My manor doesn't accept trash."

Su Tang smiled as if he'd told a joke. "But as trash, I never intended to enter your Lordship's manor."

Satan, with his superior strength and accustomed to flattery, found it unprecedented to be repeatedly undermined, despite his recent setback.

His face darkened, and the sky above the manor grew gloomy.

"Does Lady Anna think that stabbing me can be so easily forgotten?"

Su Tang slowly stepped down from the carriage. As Satan's domain, the sun seemed to have no effect on him. When angered, he could shroud his territory in darkness.

Without the sunlight, Su Tang was no longer afraid. She walked up to Satan and tilted her head slightly. "I apologize. You are welcome to take your revenge. Drive your sword into me here." She pointed to her heart. "Rest assured, I will not dodge."

Satan was furious. Had he brought her back to kill her with a single thrust? If so, he could have done it outside; there was no need to bring her here!

He paced back and forth in frustration, then stopped abruptly, as if realizing something. He glared at her. "Are you seeking death?"

For vampires, a heart injury was the most difficult to recover from. A misstep could lead to their soul scattering.

He had been so focused on enjoying the spectacle that he'd forgotten she had no intention of living.

"Don't worry. I won't let you die before I've had my fill of playing with you." He waved his hand dismissively, ordering a servant to take her away.

Satan was capricious and his temper erratic. No one could fully grasp his moods, only make educated guesses. For instance, despite his constant taunts towards Su Tang, the lady herself remained remarkably calm and unmoved.

In fact, it seemed more like their master was the one who hadn't won her favor and was resorting to spiteful words out of frustration.

Therefore, the servants, with their strong survival instincts, concluded that this lady must hold a special place in their master's heart. They dared not show any disrespect.

Seeing the servant's attentiveness, Satan's face twisted in anger. He kicked the servant. "She's just a slave! Who allowed you to treat her like a honored guest?"

The servant, caught off guard, fell to the ground, not daring to utter a word.

Su Tang, however, spoke calmly, "Lead the way."

The servant cautiously glanced at their master, seeing only a frown, and then got back up.

Satan was seething. That was his servant, yet this damned woman commanded them with such ease!

This wouldn't do. He had brought her back to torment her, not to pamper her.

So, he kicked the servant, who had just risen, again. "Get out of here!" He then stalked towards Su Tang, his face grim. "Lady Anna took care of me for ten years. Tit for tat, it's my turn to take care of you for the next ten."

He emphasized the word "care," his voice laced with a childish petulance.

When Su Tang first accepted this mission, she had been afraid. After all, this was Satan, a super demon. But the more she interacted with him, the more she realized how unpleasant his personality was, though equally apparent was his immaturity. Sometimes, she couldn't bear to look.

Like now, a three-year-old child was more mature than him!

"Thank you, Master," she said, using the same title the servant had used.

This made Satan's expression strange. "What did you call me?"

Su Tang, "Master."

Satan felt he had regained some ground. At least, this damned woman now had to address him as "Master," instead of driving him away like before.

"Fine, you can call me that from now on. But since you call me Master, you'd better remember everything I say. Otherwise, next time, I won't be kicking someone else."

Su Tang: …Childish!

"Yes, Master."

Her perfunctory reply pleased Satan immensely. His lips curled into a smile. "By the way, you haven't had any blood since you woke up, have you?"

Su Tang paused. Not only had she not had any blood, but she was also feeling listless and unwilling to speak. It wasn't due to aloofness, but a lack of energy. She felt that if he continued to act like this, she might just pounce on him out of hunger…

Satan: I may be childish and have amnesia, but I have a heart that loves you.

Su Tang: …Hah.
