Chapter 28: The Game Turns Real

The air in the classroom was ice-cold, the fluorescent lights on the wall emitting a faint white light.

It seemed everyone agreed that An Wenxu would be the one to play the game. They all voluntarily stood by the wall, watching his every move. Only Li Xiao Gui walked towards him.

Li Xiao Gui stood in front of An Wenxu's desk, watching him hold a red pen, a very ordinary, water-based red pen used for grading homework.

"I'm a little curious, can I play this game?" Li Xiao Gui asked.

An Wenxu ignored her.

Li Xiao Gui knew she was rejected. Even though he didn't respond, he didn't continue with the game either. He just held the pen, as if waiting for something.

After a while, An Wenxu couldn't bear it any longer. He looked up, frowning at her. "Can you please move over there?"

Li Xiao Gui blinked her big, curious eyes. "...Oh."

However, in the quiet classroom, Li Xiao Gui's clear voice asked, "Li, when playing this game, can't anyone watch from the side?"

Li Xiao Gui didn't move, turning her head to look at the boy holding the phone and asked.

"Huh? Not really, it shouldn't matter." He was stunned by Li Xiao Gui's words. He was originally studying his phone because he found that since entering this classroom, the phone signal had become terrible. The video was lagging, and the sound couldn't be heard at all.

Having received an affirmative answer, Li Xiao Gui looked down. "Li said I can stand here and watch."

She said, then quietly curved her lips into a smile.

An Wenxu looked at Li Xiao Gui unhappily, his hand tightening around the pen.

Li Zhen tried for a long time but still couldn't get a signal. He really didn't understand phones, so he had to give up. He sent a text message explaining the bad signal. Although the message showed an exclamation mark, indicating it couldn't be sent, there was nothing he could do. He helplessly hung up the video call.

Then he switched to recording a video. Li Zhen opened the phone's camera app, turned the phone horizontally, and filmed Li Xiao Gui and the gloomy An Wenxu in the middle of the classroom.

Seeing that Li Xiao Gui was really unwilling to leave, An Wenxu didn't want to wait any longer. He finally picked up the pen, pressed his left hand hard on the paper, and wrote quickly with his right hand, as if rushing.

Li Xiao Gui kept staring at An Wenxu's movements. He had only written one character when a soft palm pressed down on his hand holding the pen.

Li Xiao Gui looked at him with her brown eyes and said, "Didn't you say you were going to write 'Doraemon'?"

Xu Li, who was leaning lazily against the wall, straightened up, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

The white light shone on Li Xiao Gui and the expressionless An Wenxu's faces.

An Wenxu tried to continue writing with his right hand, but Li Xiao Gui pressed down even harder.

He didn't expect this small girl to have such strength! He glared at her in a flash of annoyance, as if she were his enemy.

"Get lost!" An Wenxu waved his hand forcefully. Li Xiao Gui's left hand slipped from his hand, her fingertips seeming to touch something rough.

She was thrown to the ground, her eyes looking at his arm, seeing the streaks of scratches under his rolled-up school uniform sleeve.

"Are you crazy?!" Xu Li, who was originally standing by the wall, not wanting to get involved, hurried over to help Li Xiao Gui.

But no one paid him any attention. Li Zhen was still recording the video, while the person who had thrown Li Xiao Gui to the ground silently turned away.

"Aren't you going to apologize? You're lucky I'm not hitting you!" Xu Li was so angry that he shouted, his nose flaring.

An Wenxu turned a deaf ear, lowered his head, clenched the pen again. The girl who had fallen to the ground suddenly arched her body and kicked the table with her hand on the ground for support.

The table clattered and fell over with a loud bang. The doll on the table also fell to the ground with a slap, face down.

The two boys glared at Li Xiao Gui simultaneously.

"Are you insane?!"

Li Xiao Gui stood up, patted her pants, took a step forward, and looked at the gloomy boy. "Whose name do you want to write? My Chinese score is 125, my vision is 2.0, I can clearly see that the first character you wrote is 'Zeng'. Who are you trying to write? Didn't you say Doraemon?"

Xu Li glared at her. "So what? It's just a game, why are you being so dramatic?"

An Wenxu gritted his teeth darkly and clutched the white paper in his hand. The second character was already half written on the creased paper, the bright red ink leaving a long mark.

"Hey! What's going on? Why did you stop suddenly? Li, what are you doing!" Li Zhen looked up from the screen and shouted in dissatisfaction.

The phone was still recording. The rectangular screen reflected two boys and a girl confronting each other for some unknown reason, next to a pile of overturned tables and chairs, and a doll lying on the ground.

The doll lay quietly, face down. The time at the bottom of the phone jumped every second with a round red dot. The moment it jumped from 3 to 4, the doll on the phone screen suddenly clicked!

It moved.

Almost at the same time, Li Xiao Gui turned her head, her eyes sharply scanning the classroom.

An Wenxu, standing opposite Li Xiao Gui, suddenly constricted his pupils, his eyes widening.

"Keep writing, keep writing."

"Keep writing, finish writing..."

"Then I'll come out and grant your wish!"

He seemed to hear a voice.

"Keep writing, keep writing..."

"Aren't you going to write anymore?"

The voice seemed to appear in his head. Everything in front of him seemed to slow down. The classroom twisted in front of him, as if stuffed into a convex lens.

He saw those images again, and he remembered that man. Wherever his eyes looked, everything was grotesque.

"Write... write..." An Wenxu pressed the paper into his palm and wrote the remaining characters with a twisted expression.

Li Xiao Gui didn't hear the voices. Her attention was drawn to the black energy that suddenly emerged in the classroom. The classroom, which had been devoid of any resentment just a moment ago, was now permeated with a faint, ominous aura.

"Hey, you..." Xu Li noticed his strange behavior and frowned subconsciously, reaching out his hand. But the moment he lifted his foot, he realized he couldn't move!

His eyes widened, an unspeakable fear suddenly surging up.

Li Zhen, seeing the game resume, immediately lowered his head again, excitedly watching the scene in the video. He was not interested in anything other than the paranormal. He watched as An Wenxu, holding the pen, slowly stopped...

The black energy, which was just faint before, suddenly became obvious in a certain part of the classroom. Li Xiao Gui abruptly looked up and saw a large black crack suddenly appearing on the ceiling above An Wenxu, who was standing there. Thick columns of black energy poured into the doll's body on the ground.

An Wenxu stood next to the black energy, staring straight at the paper in his hand, seemingly unaware of what was happening.

The ordinary classroom was instantly covered in heavy shadows.

Li Zhen, however, was ecstatic. "It's appearing, it's appearing! It's really appearing!"
