Chapter 29: The Doll's Fury

Li Xiao Gui wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but the moment the black air poured in, she thought she saw something like chains.

The doll shuddered on the ground, paused for two seconds, then its leg and elbow joints clicked and it stood up like a human. It seemed unaccustomed to this body, its joints twisting unnaturally, swinging its arms and legs strangely, and rushing towards Xu Li, the closest person standing besides An Wenxu, like a whirlwind.

Xu Li watched helplessly as the doll's small hand reached for his leg. He tried to move, but he couldn't, as if a heavy stone was pressing down on him. His arrogant expression froze on his stiff neck, and his eyes, the only part of his body that could move, stared in horror at the doll that was close at hand.

The doll lowered its head, its hand getting closer and closer and closer!

Suddenly, just as the doll was about to grab him, its entire body was flung backwards, slapped onto the ground with a loud clap.

He could finally breathe, but he still didn't understand what had happened.

Then he realized he could move again. The weight pressing down on him disappeared the moment the doll flew away. Xu Li gasped for breath, his heart pounding wildly in his chest.

What, what was that! Were ghosts real?

Xu Li swallowed nervously, watching the doll intently, not daring to take his eyes off it for a moment. He felt that if he looked away, it would pounce on him again.

The doll's head twisted as it lay sprawled on the ground.

Click, clack.

The doll twisted its body and slowly stood up again. Li Zhen watched the doll's stiff, eerie movements on the cold screen of his phone, feeling a shiver run down his spine. But more than that, he felt a thrill!

Li Zhen's breath quickened, his eyes glued to the phone screen.

He wanted it to be even more exciting, even more dangerous. His heart pounded; he wanted to control the doll, and the thing inside it!

"Don't, don't be afraid, calm down, we mean you no harm, we summoned you, do, do you know? We, we have always believed in your existence, always wanted to understand you..." Li Zhen said gently, holding his phone, as if trying to appease the rampaging spirit.

The doll's head clicked as it turned to look at Li Zhen. There was no curve to its mouth, but it made people feel like it was about to split open at any moment. Suddenly, it jerked its head again and ran towards Li Zhen with a distorted gait.

It was flung away again halfway.

This time, as the doll girl stood up, her head turned eerily towards Li Xiao Gui, her hand raised.

Click, clack, click, clack, it locked onto Li Xiao Gui.

Li Xiao Gui, dressed in her school uniform, stood small by the wall, neither dodging nor hiding. She stretched out her delicate finger and tapped the void. "Divine Calculation, Restrain."

A tiny black dot suddenly appeared in front of the doll's evil eyes. It glanced at Li Xiao Gui disdainfully and continued forward, brushing past the black dot.

But it didn't expect that just by brushing its arm against it, the tiny black dot would suddenly transform into a pale blue light, starting from its arm and rising on both sides to envelop it. It was a little surprised and wanted to jump out before the light completely surrounded it. But it saw the gap at the top of the light quickly close.

The doll glared fiercely at Li Xiao Gui, constantly hitting the light prison.

It slammed against it again and again. Suddenly, a voice echoed in their minds.

"Didn't you want me to help you fulfill your wish? I'm trapped now... I can't get out... Help me, and I can help you."

"You like that girl, don't you? Grab that child and I can help you."

"Didn't you say you meant me no harm? Why trap me? Help me, I feel terrible! I feel so terrible! Help me..."

"Girl, I can help you get a perfect score in math. I know you only got twenty..."

The three boys seemed to be possessed, walking towards Li Xiao Gui like mindless zombies.

Li Xiao Gui also heard the voice, her face flushed as she looked at the doll: "Hey, you, you..."

"Don't tell!" Li Xiao Gui's face turned ashamed, her fingers quickly drawing a square in the air. "Divine Calculation, Seal!"

The black cube immediately flew towards the doll. Although it was just a small, inconspicuous cube, the doll had already learned its lesson from Li Xiao Gui. The shrill voice screamed in the three boys' minds:

"Stop her!"

The doll was completely trapped, unable to dodge.

The three boys, who were originally moving mechanically, suddenly pounced on Li Xiao Gui like demons. Under the large bodies of the three boys, the tiny Li Xiao Gui was like a little chick. Li Xiao Gui hugged her head and ran quickly around the classroom. The three boys chased after her, looking like they were playing eagle and chick.

But the cube had already stuck to the doll, instantly transforming into a square cage that swallowed it whole. The doll let out a shrill scream.

The four of them circled the classroom amidst the screams. Li Xiao Gui ran fast, even circling behind the slowest Li Zhen and sticking a talisman on his back. Li Zhen froze for a moment, his movements slowing down. Then, his tense and crazed expression relaxed, and he slowly yawned and collapsed to the ground.

The remaining Xu Li and An Wenxu turned around, noticing. Li Xiao Gui smiled sweetly, preparing to stick talismans on them one by one.

Suddenly, a chain shot out, wrapping around An Wenxu's ankle and dragging him away right before Li Xiao Gui's eyes. She instinctively reached out, but the boy's entire body was pulled to the ground, and her hand grasped at nothing.

Li Xiao Gui looked over and saw a black crack appear beneath the sealed doll. Numerous chains emerged from the crack, pulling it down. This was completely different from the previous evil spirits that had vanished into thin air after being sealed.

This black crack was the same as the one that had appeared when the doll arrived.

As the doll was dragged down, the chains on its body also grabbed An Wenxu's ankle, trying to drag him down as well. Her earlier glimpse of chains within the black shadow wasn't an illusion.

By now, both An Wenxu and Xu Li had regained consciousness.

An Wenxu was dazed at first, then a bad feeling arose in his heart when he felt something dragging him backward. When he turned and saw the resin doll and the black hole beneath it, his expression turned to horror.

Li Xiao Gui wanted to chase after them, but was pulled back by the awakened Xu Li. She quickly stuck a talisman on him. Before Xu Li could say anything, he felt drowsy and collapsed to the ground, asleep.

Li Xiao Gui rushed forward. They were moving too fast, and with An Wenxu's body in the way, she couldn't accurately target the chains.

The doll girl kept pulling on the chains, as if trying to use An Wenxu's strength to climb up. As a result, both of them were falling. An Wenxu frantically grabbed at anything he could reach.

An Wenxu gritted his teeth and grabbed the leg of the overturned desk, crawling forward with all his might. He kept grabbing at anything he could as he crawled, and soon he grabbed his backpack.

But it was no use. An Wenxu's entire body was still being dragged backwards uncontrollably. Only one of the doll's eyes remained. Just as An Wenxu was about to touch the edge of the darkness...

The backpack he was holding suddenly emitted a blinding light, enveloping him. The chains loosened in shock, and the doll, along with its owner, fell into the black hole.

"Nooo!!!" The doll let out an ear-piercing scream as it fell into the black hole, and the opening closed instantly.

An Wenxu, surrounded by light, sat down slowly on the spotlessly clean ground, still clutching his backpack.

His eyes were still wide with shock, unable to process what had just happened.

Li Xiao Gui walked over to him. An Wenxu stared at her blankly.

"Are you alright?" Li Xiao Gui asked. Seeing his terrified state, she comforted him, "It's over now. Shall we go?"

An Wenxu remained silent, still sitting on the ground.

Li Xiao Gui understood and didn't push him. She walked silently to the collapsed Xu Li and Li Zhen.

She first squatted down and quickly deleted the video from Li Zhen's phone. Then, she wanted to take everyone out before the others arrived.

Although it felt like a long time had passed, it had actually been less than ten minutes. The complex building, playground, classroom building A, and library were located on four different sides of the school. No matter where they came from, it would take at least fifteen minutes.

Li Xiao Gui tried to drag Li Zhen by his clothes, but he was too heavy. She never imagined that a sleeping man could be so heavy. He looked to be only 1.7 meters tall and slender, so why was he so heavy?

What about that annoying Xu Li? Although he wasn't that tall, unlike the slender Li Zhen, he was muscular, his exposed arms showing defined muscles. He looked much heavier.

Li Xiao Gui had no choice but to ask the contemplative An Wenxu for help. "Excuse me, could you please help me carry them out?"

Now, whenever An Wenxu heard the word "help," his expression would change. However, when he heard Li Xiao Gui say, "Let's go," his expression softened. He slowly stood up and walked towards her.

Because he also wanted to get out of this classroom immediately.

An Wenxu's heart was still trembling, his calves shaking slightly as he walked towards Li Xiao Gui.

Working together, they quickly carried the two unconscious boys out.

After successfully placing them by the corridor wall, Li Xiao Gui let out a sigh of relief. She smiled at An Wenxu and thanked him. "Thank you. Ah, would you like a candy?"

Li Xiao Gui said, taking a candy from her pocket.

An Wenxu looked at the candy in Li Xiao Gui's palm and slowly raised his hand to accept it.

At the same time, hurried footsteps approached from the stairs below.

Li Xiao Gui said, "It's very tasty."

Then she also heard the footsteps and said to An Wenxu, "Help me get him up."

An Wenxu did as he was told without a word. After they helped Li Zhen up together, Li Xiao Gui removed the talisman from him.

Then she did the same to Xu Li.

They leaned against the wall, gradually regaining their senses. Then, they straightened up and looked at the classroom in front of them.

The club president and the others ran over from the other side of the teaching building. He asked them, "Where's the nonexistent classroom?"

Startled by the president's loud voice, the girls who had been standing outside watching, but had fallen asleep because they couldn't see anything, stood up and surrounded them. "What happened?"

Li Xiao Gui pointed ahead and lied blatantly, "It's here, but we tried, there's no ghost."

The others remained silent. Except for An Wenxu, they couldn't quite remember what had just happened.

The president said, "Impossible? How is that possible! I don't believe it! I want to try it myself! Where's the doll? Give it to me! I'll try it myself!" he shouted excitedly.

Li Xiao Gui said guiltily, "We were so angry that we couldn't see the ghost that we threw the doll away. We don't know where it is."

Li Xiao Gui also felt that the excuse was far-fetched, but no one refuted her.

An Wenxu, the owner of the doll, remained silent: "..."

The president pointed at Li Xiao Gui angrily. "You!"

Liu Yan stepped forward and said, "Forget it, forget it. Although we finally got here, we didn't find anything and wasted our time. But Li didn't do it on purpose. It's really late now. Let's go back and rest. We still have class tomorrow!"

The president glared at Li Xiao Gui fiercely and turned around angrily, thinking that he would come back tomorrow night with the doll and try again!

But when he came back, the school gate was inexplicably stricter, and he couldn't get into the campus at midnight no matter what he did.

A few months later, when the restrictions were finally relaxed again, he secretly went to the library alone with the doll, but he could no longer find the nonexistent third classroom.

He couldn't even remember if he had ever found that classroom. He asked many people, and they all said that they didn't find anything that night and went back. It was as if the memory of finding it was just a figment of his imagination from a dream fueled by his obsession.

Li Xiao Gui and Shen Chen walked side by side out of the south gate. At that moment, she saw five familiar black shadows gathered not far from the gate.
