Chapter 63: Chapter 63

The little girl's voice, though not particularly soft, was amplified many times by the howling wind, carrying undeniable disgust and even a hint of hatred as it echoed clearly throughout the small valley.

The snowflakes on the slope trembled slightly, accompanied by a sparse rustling sound, like whispers of quiet mockery.

The air was silent for a few seconds, then broken sobs and comforting murmurs arose.

Leaning against a tree trunk, Ruan Qiuqiu watched from a distance as Mr. Little Gray Wolf widened his eyes in bewilderment, his two small fangs subconsciously bared as he let out a low, growl-like retort, "Aooo."

But the pig demons were clearly not satisfied with his helpless and warning growl.

The pig demon leading the Water Pig Tribe glared fiercely at Mr. Little Gray Wolf. "It's all your fault! Zhuzhu is crying, and Zhuzhu's father is sick. You little thief, you've already stolen so much food, and haven't you stayed in our tribe long enough these past few days?"

The disgust of children and adolescents is often swift and intense, their unreserved and naked words always brutally honest.

Following the lead of the adult demon, the group of demons began their criticism and "punishment" of Mr. Little Gray Wolf.

"Don't try to deny it! Zhuzhu's father only came into contact with you for a couple of days before he fell ill. The tribe's shaman said he touched something unclean. Wasn't it you?"

"Stinky mute! You dare steal things? Get out of our Water Pig Tribe!"

Along with the increasingly fierce insults, the little pig demons, not daring to get too close to Mr. Little Gray Wolf, pulled out stones and something foul-smelling and rotten, which they had seemingly prepared beforehand, and hurled them at Yuan Jue.

They showed no mercy, and the speed of the demons was swift. By the time Ruan Qiuqiu finally managed to waddle over on her short legs, only a giant tree separating her from Mr. Little Gray Wolf, the first round of stones and foul-smelling, rotten food-like objects had already been thrown.

Mr. Little Gray Wolf, for some reason, hadn't dodged. His natural wolf fur, though somewhat messy but clearly kept diligently clean, was now filthy.

His pale face had also been scratched by the sharp stones, leaving several bloody marks.

Ruan Qiuqiu, standing behind him, saw him grip the wooden staff tightly, his hand clenching and unclenching as if struggling. His back remained straight as he stood there, like a stubborn pine tree.

Her heart felt as if it had been pricked, aching with sorrow.

Seeing the demons pull out more stones for a second round, Ruan Qiuqiu no longer cared whether she could be seen or heard in Yuan Jue's memory world. Stamping her feet in anger, she shouted, "Stop!"

But her voice likely went unheard by the Water Pig Tribe demons. By the time Ruan Qiuqiu reached Yuan Jue's side, he had already endured the second volley.

Mr. Little Gray Wolf, hearing the familiar yet strange voice behind him, his beautiful eyes flashed with surprise—although he currently possessed less than second-tier strength, his senses were exceptionally sharp, and rarely could a demon suddenly appear behind him.

"Ah, ah, why didn't you dodge? Doesn't it hurt?" He turned his head, and before he could clearly see the newcomer, an urgent voice reached his ears, filled with a concern he had never heard before.

"Don't listen to those pig demons. They don't believe you, but I do."

Her soft hand, unafraid of his filth, took his hand.
