Chapter 105: Chapter 105

“How could he be so badly injured?” Ruan Qiuqiu murmured subconsciously. Forgetting her shock, she quickly jogged forward, calling for Xiaoyu and Yaoyao to come and help.

But before she could reach the crying, severely injured little eagle, she heard Xiong Duoduo calling to her from afar, “Madam Yuan, come into the cave first! The yao outside can still hold on, but several inside are already in critical condition!”

Ruan Qiuqiu froze, turning to see Xiong Duoduo’s clothes covered in blood, a gruesome sight.

“Woo—” The little eagle in front of her seemed to understand what was happening.

A large eagle beside him used a broken wing to block the little eagle's beak, its eyes half-closed in exhaustion, seemingly unwilling to let its young one disturb Ruan Qiuqiu from saving others.

The little eagle was obedient. Enduring the pain, it closed its light-colored beak tightly, but tears still flowed from its large eyes, its chubby little body trembling non-stop.

Ruan Qiuqiu gritted her teeth, steeled her heart, and flicked a first-tier healing water droplet from her fingertip, encasing the little eagle’s broken leg. Turning away, she forced herself not to look at the other eagles and entered the cave.

The large cave where Xiao Bo He and the three Xiaoyu siblings lived was now crowded with yao. Aside from a few healthy ones, Ruan Qiuqiu saw four critically injured eagles.

Tian Xiu stood beside a pale, short-haired young woman, who was currently standing by the large eagles, her face ashen.

Ruan Qiuqiu didn't see Yuan Jue, but after looking around and noticing everyone helping here, she figured Mr. Big Bad Wolf was probably temporarily watching over Qing Ruyi and Grandpa Panda.

She remembered that Mr. Little Grey Wolf seemed to have had some minor conflicts with these red eagles before, so it was normal for him to be unwilling to stay here.

“Mad-Madam Yuan…” Overwhelmed with anxiety, Tian Xiu stammered, “Please, save them…”

Ruan Qiuqiu smiled at him and then began to examine the eagles' wounds, starting her healing work.

She wasn't a tribal shaman, but because of her healing water droplets, her ability was now used more for healing than fighting.

These red eagles looked like they had gone through a fierce battle, with wounds all over their bodies, the most severe being on their wings, chests, and abdomens.

After a brief examination, Ruan Qiuqiu began the treatment.

She didn't hold back her spiritual energy, but the four eagles brought into the cave were truly on the verge of death, and there was only one Ruan Qiuqiu.

Even though Tian Xiu kept giving her spirit stones from somewhere to replenish her spiritual energy;

Even though Ruan Qiuqiu had already used healing water droplets to stop the bleeding and was doing her best to heal them;

During this long healing process, Ruan Qiuqiu still felt overwhelmed.

After all, she had already exhausted her mental strength once for Grandma Ruyi and Grandpa Mo.

This time, while treating the third eagle, her mental strength reached its limit.

Ruan Qiuqiu gritted her teeth. Just as she was reaching the point of exhaustion, she suddenly felt something condense in her mind, and the bottleneck at the peak of the second tier suddenly broke through.

Both her mental and physical strength seemed to be replenished instantly. Ruan Qiuqiu didn't choose to rest but continued to condense healing water droplets.

However, her ability wasn't strong enough to heal all kinds of wounds. As time passed, she still couldn't save one of the eagles.

It was a very old eagle with fiery red feathers, and the tips of its wings still showed traces of numerous golden feathers.

He was also the most severely injured. From the outside, he didn't seem to have any injuries, but his internal meridians were broken, his flesh and blood almost melted, and his life force was fading much faster than Ruan Qiuqiu could heal.

As Ruan Qiuqiu, her face pale, gritted her teeth and tried again, a hoarse voice came from the eagle's dark beak.

“Hoo… (Let go… Little one… Thank you.)”

Ruan Qiuqiu froze, thinking she was hallucinating.

The shadows under her eyes were dark, and her sense of time was blurred. She hadn't even noticed that Yuan Jue had been standing beside her for more than half an hour.

“Wife.” Yuan Jue pursed his lips, a flicker of hesitation in his dark eyes. But seeing Ruan Qiuqiu still trying to hold on and save the eagle, he finally extended his long arm and gently tugged her wrist. “Rest.”

Ruan Qiuqiu looked up at Mr. Big Bad Wolf with a dazed expression.

The usual sharpness in his narrow eyes had softened, and his gaze towards her was especially gentle.

His gaze helped Ruan Qiuqiu regain some composure. She glanced at the eagle lying on the stone bed, then at the several red eagles behind her who had transformed into human forms, their eyes red-rimmed. She came back to her senses and stopped persisting.

Her limbs suddenly relaxed as Mr. Big Bad Wolf carried her to the wooden wheelchair.

“Goo… (Is that the little wolf cub?)”

A soft, hoarse voice came from behind. Ruan Qiuqiu clearly felt Mr. Big Bad Wolf stiffen for a moment before quickly returning to normal.

Ruan Qiuqiu didn't have the strength to turn around, but before Mr. Big Bad Wolf took her out of the cave, she heard several voices filled with remorse.

The old eagle, who had reached the end of his life, was like an old man experiencing a final burst of energy, rambling on, seemingly recalling past events that filled him with guilt.

His voice grew louder, and his cloudy eyes became somewhat clearer. “Hoo… Woo… (Cub, the Clan Leader sent me to find you. He’s already beaten Tian Yue and those guys until they begged for mercy. I’m carrying all these herbs, I can’t possibly eat them all myself, can I?)”

He rambled on, his voice choking with emotion. “Goo… (I’m sorry, I only searched for you for one night… Are you still alive…?)”

Before leaving the cave, Ruan Qiuqiu could only hear the eagle repeating his apologies, each one like a soft knife piercing her heart.

Ruan Qiuqiu looked nervously at Mr. Big Bad Wolf.

She remembered some of the events that had transpired between the Red Eagle Tribe and Mr. Big Bad Wolf—

Mr. Little Grey Wolf had once saved Tian Xiu on a whim, only to be mistaken for a bad wolf and beaten by some of the Red Eagle Tribe, forcing him to flee in a sorry state. But many yao, even Tian Xiu, didn't know about him being beaten.

Ruan Qiuqiu had even held a slight grudge against Tian Xiu because of this for a short time. She never expected that there was such a follow-up to that incident.
