Chapter 78: What to Eat Tomorrow Morning

The child cried, and the big dad quickly took the child to the balcony.

The sound of crying in the living room was too loud and could easily wake up Little Parrot and his mother.

This time, the child cried even harder--

Yue Qin really had no experience in comforting teenagers, after all, his own son was only 4 years old and not a crybaby.

Little Kangkang had never been a crybaby since he was a child. He would just pout when he fell, bumped, or touched something. He would never cry.

The couple discovered that the child couldn't speak because he never cried.

Yue Qin was thinking about how to comfort the child when he saw a green figure appear at the glass door of the living room.

The children's room was not soundproof. When Little Parrot was woken up, he was so angry that he flapped his wings and walked out angrily. Then he saw that his father and younger brother had gone to the balcony.

The younger brother was crying.

Ah, the boss's younger brother really looked like a three-year-old child, because four-year-old children no longer liked to cry.

Little Parrot sighed. He really didn't understand why his younger brother was crying.

Other children in school cried because they were separated from their parents.

It seemed that it was not only adults who did things he didn't understand, but children as well.

Yue Qin gestured to his son to go back to his room and sleep.

After all, the child's current situation was all because of a wish his son had made.

"Do you feel better after letting it out?" Big dad sat down beside him. There was still some difference between treating a child and treating an adolescent.

"No." The child wiped his tears and said fiercely.

"Then cry a little longer."

"I don't want to cry anymore. It's because your son's body loves to cry."

Yue Qin looked behind him and saw that Little Parrot was already bristling with anger, pecking at the glass door twice.

"I didn't like to cry when I was a child. I never cried." Mr. Kang couldn't help but say, "When I was a child, any room in my house was bigger than yours. I could play with whatever toys I wanted. I also had a villa that was specially decorated as an adventure island."

"The kind where you pass all the levels?" Yue Qin was a little surprised.

"Highly realistic." Mr. Kang boasted, "The people who made it for me had participated in the design of Disney theme parks."

His voice was still choked with sobs. Yue Qin wasn't sure how old he was, but he could be sure that his mental age was really young and he had almost no ability to communicate with the outside world.

He had finally opened up a little and wanted to tell the truth, but now he retreated back into his shell and acted in the same way as before.

This urgent desire to prove that he lacked nothing was really both childish and funny, and a little pitiful.

However, Yue Qin looked at the child and remembered the time when he was injured, the child's nervousness and worry for him, and the time when he said with a cry, "You don't know how sad it is to be a child without a father."

"That's quite fun. No wonder you want to go back." Yue Qin patted the child on the shoulder.

"Dad's family is poor. Dad knows you've been wronged during this time."

As expected, the child paused for a moment, as if he felt that he had gone too far. He wiped his tears and said, "It's not that bad. Although I haven't been as good as I was at home during this time, it's still okay."

Yue Qin looked at the child, "I was just being polite, and you actually took it seriously?"

"Didn't you say I was wronged? I thought about it and actually felt a little wronged. For example, when I was at home, I could eat whatever I wanted, but now you won't let me eat a lot of things, so... can I have another sesame ball tomorrow morning?"

Fried food was the best!

But Dad hardly ever made fried food.

Big dad wasn't happy, "You're really making a direct request? You can't eat too much fried food."

Mr. Kang gave an "oh" and fell silent again.

The city night was very quiet, and the sound of the wind blowing through the banyan trees in the community could be heard. Yue Qin was not in a hurry. He looked at the night sky, waiting for the little friend beside him to speak his mind.

After a while, the little friend beside him finally spoke--

"Dad... Can I still call you Dad?"

"Yes." Yue Qin said, "My previous thought was that if your family was poor, you could come to our house after you switched back to your own body."

The child's eyes lit up when he heard this.

Yue Qin had really thought about it before. Yue Qin was a kind-hearted person. Especially after he had a child, he always felt more sorry for those children who didn't have parents.

What's more, this child had been living in their house for so long, and they had developed feelings for him.

The child thought about it, and his eyes dimmed again, "Alas, forget it."

Yue Qin became more and more certain that the child must have some secret.

This secret was the reason why he was so uncomfortable, and it was also the reason why he emphasized again and again that he had a lot of things himself and didn't care about his current life.

In fact, Yue Qin could also feel that the child was very happy in their home, and he could feel that the child lacked the love of his parents, and treated him and his wife as his parents.

Children's emotions were almost always undisguised.

It was precisely because the child regarded them as his parents that Yue Qin could not let go and regarded the child as his own.

Yue Qin looked at the child who was drooping his head and fell silent again, and said--

"Some things are a big deal in the eyes of children, but in the eyes of us adults, they are really just small things."

Big dad's voice was so gentle and tolerant. The child himself had been an adult before, but when he was an adult, he only felt that adults were ugly, impulsive, bad, and willful. They were simply pests in this world.

It was totally different from the adults he had imagined when he was a child.

However, Big dad was the perfect image of an adult.

He was rational, calm, like a mountain, standing tall and upright. The wind blew all the way, the trees swayed, and he was still himself, standing there calmly and silently. The impetuous world had nothing to do with him. He only insisted on his own world.

Every boy had longed to grow up to be such a man, and every boy had longed to have such a father.

"You can try to tell Dad what you're afraid of."

Big dad's hand was on his shoulder, his eyes tolerant. The greatest tolerance a real father could give his child was probably like this.

Mr. Kang knew that Big dad was encouraging him to face the truth.

However, Mr. Kang, who was also an adult, still couldn't face his true self.

He still avoided getting hurt like a child and asked in a small voice, "Then... Dad, can I have fried dough balls tomorrow morning?"
