Chapter 96: The Actions of a Real Son

Mr. Kang often heard people say, "Even though we're poor, we have our own kind of happiness."

Being rich limited his imagination. He thought poor people were just trying to comfort themselves. After all, if he didn't have money, he wouldn't be happy.

Now, looking at his little brother Little Parrot, Mr. Kang felt his heart soar with happiness.

His brothers had flown away after avenging him. They were a group of warriors who had fought stray cats!

Those people couldn't even throw stones accurately and ended up being filmed by others.

Mr. Kang wanted to use Mom and Dad's phone to record it, but the couple saw that Little Parrot and his brothers had flown away. They were also in a hurry to leave, so they didn't take any pictures.

Mr. Kang thought his big, strong dad would say something, like asking why Little Parrot had launched a "biochemical attack" on those people.

However, Big Dad didn't ask about it on the way back. He just said that to celebrate Mom's successful performance, the family should go mountain climbing together.

Mom had been too busy before, and they hadn't done any family activities together. Now that Mom had finished one phase of her work, it was a good time to relax.

Mr. Kang was very interested in mountain climbing. After all, most families with children would do such things. His kindergarten classmates had told him that their family was going mountain climbing and seeing peacocks on the weekend.

Today, Mr. Kang knew his family was poor, so mountain climbing it was. Any mountain would do; they didn't have to see peacocks.

The family of three soon returned home.

Little Parrot came back later than them. Today, Mr. Kang saw Little Parrot as a real older brother and gave him some puffed rice.

As Little Parrot ate the puffed rice, Mr. Kang looked at him.

"Brother, you took the other birds to bully those people today to stand up for me, right?"

Little Parrot looked up, his feathers ruffled, probably remembering those people making fun of his brother. "Brother, you just have a little something that needs to be changed. It wasn't nice of them to say that."

Mr. Kang was touched. Usually, Little Parrot would get angry, let other birds bully him, and even threaten to push him out of the nest. But this time, when others just said a few harmless words, he led his brothers to avenge him. This was brotherhood! True brotherhood! In an instant, Mr. Kang felt a surge of emotion.

Just a few harmless words, and he hadn't even gotten angry, but his brothers did.

He seemed to have forgotten how those "harmless words" had made his cheeks puff up with anger, almost making him want to fight them.

Little Parrot looked at his brother and said, "So brother, you have to listen to me in the future. I won't hurt you."

Mr. Kang nodded. He decided to investigate the turtledove matter himself and not tell Mom and Dad for now.

He had woken up in the middle of the night for two consecutive nights, so he woke up again at the same time tonight.

He was a little thirsty. Mr. Kang turned his head and found that Little Parrot wasn't sleeping beside him. Only his second and third brothers were in the two nests next to him.

Mr. Kang got up. As he approached the door, he heard a voice outside.

The voice was very low.

Mr. Kang was curious. He opened the door and realized the sound was coming from the balcony.

On the balcony, Little Parrot played dumb. "We were just messing with him. He'll be fine after a bath."

"Is that the only reason?" Big Dad clearly didn't believe it. "But you've never met before."

Little Parrot flew onto his dad's shoulder, pretending to be naive. "Dad, I'm not a child anymore."

"Baby, Daddy knows you have power now, but you can't attack people casually, okay?" Yue Qin had seen the scene today and was very worried. "If they were bad people and held a grudge, their retaliation would definitely be worse than stray cats."

"Did brother tell you too?" Little Parrot only knew that his brother had told Mom, but he didn't expect him to tell Dad too.

"Brother is such a blabbermouth." Little Parrot ruffled his feathers angrily.

Big Dad quickly comforted his youngest son. "Brother was also afraid that you would be in danger, so he told Dad."

"Then I want to tell Dad something too, which is why we went to take revenge on those people—" Little Parrot said angrily.

Mr. Kang awkwardly pressed himself against the glass door. The cold touch of the glass suddenly brought him back to his senses.

Once his brother spoke, his identity would be exposed. Mr. Kang closed his eyes. Forget it, he deserved it. He had betrayed his brother first.

Little Parrot sighed and said, "Forget it, Dad, I want to go back to sleep."

Mr. Kang opened his eyes. His brother didn't betray him! Although he was angry, he didn't betray him!

Little Parrot hopped towards the room as if he had forgotten how to fly.

Actually, he was very unhappy, but hopping like this made him seem happy.

Mr. Kang hurriedly ran back and lay on the bed, anxiously waiting for his brother to return.

He felt that Little Parrot must be even angrier now.

After a while, Little Parrot flew to the door, landed on the floor, squeezed through the small door, and flew onto his nest.

Mr. Kang could feel Little Parrot staying in his nest for a while before flying onto his pillow.

Mr. Kang regretted pretending to be asleep, but if he opened his eyes now, he would have to face his brother's anger.

Mr. Kang could only lie there with trepidation. Little Parrot watched him for a while before returning to his nest.

The room was quiet. He could hear his other two brothers probably fighting stray cats in their sleep, occasionally flapping their wings.

Little Parrot, however, didn't seem to be asleep. He hopped around on the table, seemingly anxious about his lying brother.

"I..." Mr. Kang couldn't sleep either and couldn't help but speak.

Little Parrot stopped.

"I didn't mean to betray you." Mr. Kang looked at the ceiling. The dead of night made people vulnerable, and his heart felt like it was soaking in ice-cold seawater. "It's my first time having a mom and dad. Besides talking about you, I have nothing else to talk to them about." He finally said it.

"Brother, don't cry." Little Parrot flew to his pillow.

"Every time I talk about you, they're so happy." Tears streamed down the child's face. "I didn't have a mom and dad before. Besides you, I don't know what to say to them."

"I'm not their child, and I'm not even a child. Everything now will disappear."

The more the child spoke, the more he wanted to cry. The happier he was now, the more he wanted to cry.

"Brother—" Little Parrot flapped his wings.

"Brother—" The child caught Little Parrot.

The two brothers couldn't help but hug each other and cry.

Yue Qin was anxious about his child having such great power.

He was so anxious that he couldn't sleep. When he got up and came out, he heard crying coming from the children's room.

The two children were crying their hearts out.

The child sobbed, "I have nothing in common with them."

Little Parrot seemed to be crying too, but it was more like he was echoing the child's cries.

Yue Qin felt sorry for the two brothers. Was there something he hadn't considered?

It was also Yue Qin's first time being a father, and he began to reflect.

In the room, Little Parrot comforted him, "Mom and Dad are so silly. You can say anything, and they'll think you're cute. Don't put so much pressure on yourself."

Yue Qin really wanted to go in and see his son.

But... a four-year-old child was pretending to cry to comfort his brother while saying such things in a serious manner.

It was really cute.

As expected of his son, he understood them too well!
