Chapter 138: Little Aunt?

Mr. Kang felt a little strange. He had never seen a picture of Xia Sheng's younger sister.

He knew a little bit about her. It seemed like it was difficult to get in touch with her. Before, when Xia Sheng's mother had that incident at the hospital, they couldn't reach her sister.

Mr. Kang had met Xia Sheng's parents and her grandmother. Her grandfather had already passed away.

He had also met Yue Qin's parents through video calls. Yue Qin's father was an orphan, so he didn't have grandparents. His parents lived in the countryside. When they were young, Yue Qin's father was the village head.

He knew about everyone in the family, except for this younger sister. Xia Sheng rarely mentioned her, and he had almost never seen what she looked like.

"What does your younger sister look like?" Mr. Kang was a bit curious. "Why haven't I ever met her?"

"Mom said that Little Aunt has to do something very important and can't come to see us for now."

Something important?

Mr. Kang became even more curious. Everyone else seemed to know about this little aunt, so why was he the only one left in the dark?

So, after breakfast, Mr. Kang couldn't help but ask Xia Sheng about it. When Xia Sheng heard him mention her younger sister, a worried look flashed across her eyes. She still replied, "She's gone to do what she wants to do."

"What is it? Maybe I can help her." After all, he had money.

Xia Sheng whispered, "I don't know either. She just said that she won't be able to contact us for about half a year."

When Xia Sheng thought of her sister, what came to mind was the little girl who used to hide in the closet with her when they were young.

She knew that her sister had grown up, but she couldn't help but worry about her.

She didn't dare to look for her either. Her sister had said that if she tried to find her, she might be in danger. She had to trust her and believe that she would be back by the New Year.

Mr. Kang was stunned for a second. "Is she an undercover police officer?" After all, besides that, there didn't seem to be any other profession with that kind of requirement.

"No," Xia Sheng said. "She studied nutrition in college. She probably just wants some time to think about what she wants to do in the future."

Her sister…

Mr. Kang became even more curious about this family member…

"I have a feeling she's the kind of younger sister who listens to you very well." Actually, he didn't really think so, but in front of her older sister, he had to praise the younger one.

After all, from their previous brief conversations, he could roughly tell that Xia Sheng didn't have a good relationship with her parents and that she had grown up relying on her younger sister.

As expected, Xia Sheng felt like confiding in him. "She listens to me very well. When we were young, the kindergarten would give out candy, and she would secretly stuff it into her pockets and bring it back for me to eat."

Mr. Kang acted like a good listener and said in surprise, "She's too well-behaved."

And so, Mr. Kang had the honor of listening to a story of two sisters who depended on each other for survival.

However, Xia Sheng sighed and said, "Actually, she and I are different people. I like family, I like being surrounded by people, but she doesn't."

Her sister had chosen the same major as her for college, but after graduating, it seemed like she was unhappy every day.

When her sister left with her backpack, she said that she wanted to find out what she really wanted.

It was only then that Xia Sheng understood that her sister had never liked the idea of falling in love, getting married, and having children. She just wanted to be with her.

Her sister said that she wanted to go out and see the world, so Xia Sheng could only let her go.

Mr. Kang had a bit of a headache. So, in reality, his little sister-in-law was… a rebellious girl who ran away from home?

He was much more obedient. Although he was rebellious, he never ran away from home.

However, Mr. Kang still decided to try and find this rebellious girl. After all, she was Little Kangkang's aunt, and like him, she was a colorful person. He couldn't let her suffer hardship outside.

That afternoon, when Mr. Kang went to pick up Kangkang from kindergarten, he lined up with the other parents.

It was soon his turn. Like the other parents, Mr. Kang greeted Teacher Liu: "Good afternoon, Teacher Liu."

Teacher Liu looked at this man again. She didn't dislike him as much as before. After all, he was a colorful person.

"Good afternoon, Kangkang's uncle," Teacher Liu said and called Kangkang out. "Kangkang behaved very well in school today."

Mr. Kang saw her holding back a smile and pressed his temples. "Did you see that drawing?"

"He drew very well."

"I don't lie often," Mr. Kang explained.

Teacher Liu wanted to laugh even more. "Kangkang was praising you."

Kangkang had only said that this person always finished his meals, helped his dad wash vegetables, and helped his mom mop the floor.

Mr. Kang: "…I've miscalculated." Teacher Liu was still the same Teacher Liu as before.

Teacher Liu had actually learned a lesson today. She realized that she was also biased against people. For example, this man in front of her, she initially thought he didn't seem like a good person.

But after seeing Little Kangkang's drawing and now this, she felt that he was actually quite a lovely person.

"Goodbye, Teacher Liu."

Mr. Kang picked up Little Kangkang and reflexively said to the person behind him.

Teacher Liu stood there, feeling like this "Teacher Liu" sounded very familiar recently.

She didn't think much of it. After all the children were gone, she turned around and went up to the rooftop to collect the children's quilts that she had hung out to dry earlier.

Most people had lovely colors on them.

Just as she was about to go back inside, she saw a young woman in a dress standing next to her, looking at the photos on the school's notice board.

"Hello?"

The young woman turned around. Teacher Liu was stunned. This… was too beautiful, wasn't it? The last time she was this amazed was when she saw Kangkang's mother, that gentle woman who seemed to exude tenderness.

And the woman in front of her possessed a completely different kind of beauty: passionate, glamorous, and aggressive.

The young woman shook her head and said, "Just taking a look."

After saying that, she turned and left. Teacher Liu stood there dumbfounded for a while before coming back to her senses.

She looked at the spot where the young woman had been looking just now. It was a photo from the school's art performance. The photo the woman had been looking at was the one of their class.

She had edited that photo. The children dressed as flowers and trees looked so cute.

Looking at the photo, Teacher Liu remembered that at that time, Kangkang was still a child who wasn't very good at communicating with other children.

Now, Kangkang had become the king of the children in school. He would listen to what other children had to say and was very friendly to her and the principal. He didn't bully the principal anymore.

The principal finally didn't have to hide from a kindergarten child anymore.

His progress was incredibly fast.
