Chapter 47: Being Upset

Being Upset (Today is also an unhappy day for Mr. Kang)

For the second time, President Kang listened to Xia Sheng play this six-million piano. He listened intently as Xia's fingers danced across the keys, producing a melody that filled the room.

It was a completely different experience compared to the first time. During his initial encounter with Xia Sheng's playing, President Kang felt a gentle growth of all things, a slight trembling of life in its initial stage. The music made his soul tremble and awaken, as if he were seeing the beauty of the world for the first time.

However, this time around, the feeling was overwhelming. Even with his bulky father holding him, President Kang couldn't escape the pressure. He considered leaving quickly but ultimately decided to stay and endure the oppressive feeling.

Sound after sound, as if swords were pressing against each other.

As the music continued, the intensity grew stronger. It was as if the melody was forcing out the greatest resistance of all life. Mixed with the desire for life and the pain of death, the music was both cold and crazy.

President Kang's forehead started to sweat, feeling that this six-million piano... was worth it, worth it!

And at this moment, the little parrot finally woke up and flew out of President Kang's hat.

President Kang was still in the grip of the intense music, even after arriving home. The powerful melody oppressed him, making it difficult for him to focus on anything else.

However...

The bulky father, who had listened to the music with him, hummed a tune in the kitchen as he prepared a delicious mutton hot pot for lunch. They had originally planned to eat snail noodles when they got home.

President Kang felt nauseous at the thought of that smell, so he pulled out the little parrot to perform for the young couple.

"Little Parrot Teacher - Snail Noodle -"

Suddenly, the little parrot shook his wings and appeared as if he was about to vomit.

Mr. Kang quickly intervened, saying, "We can't torture the teacher. Let's wait until we're both out of the house to eat snail noodles."

Luckily, there was someone else in the house who shared his aversion to the odor of snail noodles.

Mr. Kang looked at the little parrot with sympathetic eyes, knowing that this little guy would have to go through countless trials of snail noodles in the future.

Yue Qin thought about it and said, "Then let's have mutton hotpot for lunch. We haven't had it in a long time. Your mother and I will have a spicy hotpot, and you can have a clear soup hotpot."

So for lunch, they had mutton hotpot. Mr. Kang really hated mutton, but he had already accepted all the other food that his big and burly father made for him, except for snail noodles.

Meanwhile, the little parrot was jumping on big daddy's shoulder.

Despite the intense music, the father and son pair were unfazed and remained as joyful as ever.

Although Mr. Kang's heart was still reverberating with the sound of the piano.

He looked away and sighed. This is all life. People who have never been oppressed cannot resonate with it.

At that moment, Mom was immersed in composing a piece of music, and she was currently playing a song that she had improvised herself.

As he listened to the song, Mr. Kang couldn't help but feel that it expressed her previous madness and rebellion against the world to the fullest extent. Despite not being related by blood, they could certainly be considered bosom friends!.

Mr. Kang didn't want to disturb her, so he sat quietly beside her, waiting for her to finish the song.

Xia Sheng had a strange habit. Whether she was too tired to rest or she was happy to write music, she liked to be in the living room rather than in a quieter study or bedroom.

In the living room, she could smell the aroma wafting from the kitchen. The rice in the cooker, as it started boiling, emanated a fragrance that seemed to be the smell of rice accumulated from rainwater, soil, and sunlight.

Big dad hummed a song that was completely out of tune and made the sound of cutting vegetables.

Mr. Kang sat quietly on a small stool, watching the woman who was composing earnestly. The bruises on her face were covered with a plaster that her husband had applied to reduce the swelling.

She must have had many things happen to her today, and she must have had many things on her mind. But in this home, she was completely accepted.

A pleasant smell pervaded the entire air, making every pore of the body feel open and comfortable.

Mr. Kang sat on a small stool, lying on the coffee table, feeling so relaxed that he soon drifted off to sleep. Even in his slumber, he could still perceive the sounds around him.

When Yue Qin came out, he saw his son lying there sleeping. He walked over and picked up his son.

As soon as he picked him up, the child woke up. He opened his eyes and looked at Yue Qin, but it seemed like he hadn't fully woken up yet: "Daddy…"

"Yeah? Daddy's here." Yue Qin carried the child into the room.

As the child grew increasingly drowsy, he wrapped his arms around his father and murmured softly, "Daddy... mommy..."

The child's voice was tinged with a faint sob, and Yue Qin thought the child was crying. However, upon closer inspection, he realized that the child had actually fallen asleep again.

Crying and sleeping at the same time? What was going on?

Mr. Kang had only slept for a little while in bed before he woke up. He was awakened by a pleasant fragrance and found himself in the child's room. He could hear big dad talking outside, and he could hear singing too.

Mr. Kang opened the door of the child's room and saw his mother sitting on the couch, teaching the little parrot to sing.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are..." she sang.

The little parrot followed along and sang, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are..."

Not a single word was wrong. The parrot that had trouble even saying "eat" was not only singing perfectly but also staying in tune.

"Dear, this parrot is just like me. It has perfect pitch."

Mr. Kang didn't know what perfect pitch was, but just from hearing the term, he knew it must be a musical talent. The violent mother definitely had musical talent.

In fact, the little parrot was her child, so of course he had talent too.

After being praised, the little parrot happily jumped up and down, flapping his wings.

Mr. Kang was in the room, peering through the gap in the door. He attempted to sing the same nursery rhyme they had just finished.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star..." But he couldn't even finish singing it before he knew he was off-key.

Yue Qin observed his wife teaching the little parrot how to sing, and it seemed like the parrot was overjoyed, just like their baby used to do when he couldn't speak yet.

The little parrot hopped up and down, flapping his wings in delight.

However, since their baby learned how to speak, he no longer expressed his happiness in such a way.

Suddenly, a sound came from the kitchen.

Yue Qin glanced over and noticed his son on a stool, spoon in one hand, and a bowl in the other, scooping himself a bowl of mutton and radish stew.

"Baby? Are you hungry? Dad will pour it into the pot right away and warm it up then we can eat our meal."

The child put the bowl of mutton and radish on the table, got down from the stool, and walked towards the child's room while carrying the bowl.

When Yue Qin came over, the child kept his head down and muttered without turning back, "I want to be alone for a while."

Yue Qin: "..." alone with a bowl of mutton and radish?

The child walked into the child's room like a rebellious teenager, carrying a bowl of mutton and radish and closed the door.

Yue Qin turned around and looked at his wife, and they both looked at each other. Has puberty arrived too soon?

And then the door opened again.

The child kept his head down and silently walked past them towards the kitchen where he made himself a bowl of rice.

Is this how a 4-year-old child gets upset? Even while eating mutton and radish, he remembered to bring a bowl of rice.

Yue Qin knocked on the door: "Baby?"

"I want to be alone for a while."

"Baby, Dad has something to tell you."

"I want to be alone for a while. You guys continue to teach the little parrot to sing, don't waste his perfect pitch."

As the child spoke, he drank the stewed mutton soup, which was milky white.

The next second, the child felt a spicy sensation in his mouth, and his tongue was burning because he couldn't just spray it directly on the table in the room. He had to swallow it all at once.

Outside, the voice of the big dad came: "Baby, the mutton and radish you scooped is in the spicy soup. You can't eat spicy food."

The soup was so spicy that tears flowed from his eyes. "I can eat spicy food."
