Chapter 61: Blood Slave Contract

If it were before, even just a month ago, Xiao Mian would have been ecstatic to hear Leng Mushi say these words.

But hearing them now, he only felt as if a knife was twisting in his heart.

His lips trembled for a moment, and finally, he turned his head and rested it against Leng Mushi's, whispering, "I'm sorry…"

He shouldn't have pursued her. He should have retreated when she rejected him in the Heart-Asking Formation.

If that were the case, maybe now she would only pity his situation like other disciples, and wouldn't have to suffer so much.

"Why do you always apologize?" Leng Mushi looked up at Xiao Mian. "What did you do wrong?"

Leng Mushi wiped her eyes and glanced outside. The midday sun was scorching, even the demonic beasts in the Cangsheng Courtyard were hiding in the shade.

But the sun couldn't warm Leng Mushi. She looked at Xiao Mian, reached out and hugged him tightly, feeling the warmth he still had.

He was still warm, he was still alive. As long as he was still here, Leng Mushi wouldn't feel cold.

"Xiao Gege, if you really feel sorry for me, why don't you make it up to me?" Leng Mushi leaned close and kissed Xiao Mian's neck. Xiao Mian asked in a low voice, "How can I make it up to you, tell me…"

Leng Mushi didn't say anything. She directly pushed Xiao Mian back onto the bed, then, under Xiao Mian's confused gaze, pulled open her sash.

She said, "I still don't know what it's like to be a woman. Brother, you taught me love, so you should teach me desire too."

When Xiao Mian realized what she meant, he immediately tried to get up, but Leng Mushi held him down.

"No!" He stared with his two different colored eyes and struggled to break free.

Demonic energy overflowed from his body. His sash fell loose, and he even slammed his head against Leng Mushi's, trying to escape.

Leng Mushi was determined. She grabbed the black whip that bound Xiao Mian and directly pulled him back from the ground.

Xiao Mian was shocked and anxious, even more so than when he learned that he had been brought out of the forbidden land. A burst of spiritual light erupted from his body, directly breaking the black whip's binding.

This black whip was Yin Yi's magical tool, called the Ink Dragon. It was refined from the tendons of a Water虺. Although the Water虺 was still some distance from transforming into a dragon, its tendons were still extremely tough and had the effect of suppressing evil spirits.

With demonic energy, Xiao Mian would definitely not be able to easily break free from the Ink Dragon. Otherwise, the Five-Tailed Dragon wouldn't have been so powerful but still unable to break free in the Demon Clan's ruins.

But with spiritual energy, Xiao Mian didn't need to expend much effort to break free from this magical tool.

However, after Xiao Mian used his spiritual energy, the demonic energy in his body surged again. He staggered and was quickly bound to the stool again by Leng Mushi with the Ink Dragon.

Xiao Mian glared at Leng Mushi, his aura so chaotic that he was about to transform into a demon on the spot. Leng Mushi hugged him, sat on his lap, and a vast spiritual energy erupted from her body again, slowly calming the demonic energy within him.

No matter how hard Xiao Mian tried this time, he couldn't break free. The barbs on the Ink Dragon even cut his wrists, leaving them covered in blood.

"Don't be like this." Xiao Mian calmed his flustered heart and actually went mute in that short moment.

He said hoarsely, "Don't be stubborn. Cultivators should avoid persistent attachments. I'm destined not to be with you, why are you so foolish?"

Leng Mushi didn't speak. She kissed his earlobe and hugged him tighter. Their clothes were messy, their bodies intimately close.

Xiao Mian continued, "Your Yuan Yin is very helpful for your cultivation, why waste it on me? I'm already…"

Xiao Mian couldn't speak anymore. He actually wanted to say that she could find another person she loved, and then formally become Dao companions with him. At that time, her cultivation would be stable, and if she wanted to dual cultivate, it wouldn't matter then.

But now that he was entangled in demonic energy, he couldn't help her at all, he couldn't give her anything, and only had the burden left. Xiao Mian really didn't want that.

Therefore, he struggled until his wrists were covered in blood, his fingertips dripping blood, but in the end, he couldn't twist Leng Mushi's heart of stone.

Leng Mushi bit the corner of her own clothes. Even after reading so many storybooks, no matter how detailed and vivid the descriptions were, with illustrations and all, they had now become wastepaper. Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, while Xiao Mian was directly tortured by her until his lips were bitten.

Leng Mushi let go of her clothes and kissed him again. Xiao Mian frowned, not daring to open his eyes to look at her.

"Stop messing around, why are you so disobedient…" Xiao Mian's breath was so chaotic that it was difficult to continue. If he didn't understand the difference between Leng Mushi's playfulness and seriousness, he would have thought that she was deliberately tormenting him.

But even now, he was still trying to persuade her.

In the end, Leng Mushi was also covered in a thin layer of sweat. Their clothes were half-undone, but not completely removed, and their faces were flushed red.

Unable to find the way under the wide robes, Leng Mushi simply gave up and abruptly thrust her hips.

Xiao Mian's forehead instantly bulged with veins, his head slamming back against the back of the chair. He let out a short grunt, then clenched his teeth, opening his bloodshot eyes to look at Leng Mushi.

His hair was disheveled, his cheeks flushed, his appearance disheveled yet strikingly handsome. One of his eyes was completely red, while the other was also bloodshot from the unbearable pain, giving him an undeniable air of bewitching madness.

He finally pursed his lips, no longer saying anything to make Leng Mushi give up. Things had come to this, he…

The demonic energy within his body churned uncontrollably, and his black pupil began to turn bloodshot unconsciously.

Leng Mushi loosened her bite on his bleeding lips, her cold sweat dripping. She looked up to meet Xiao Mian's eyes and was so startled that she grabbed his neck.

At the same time, spiritual energy surged from her body once more, all directed towards Xiao Mian, forcefully suppressing his chaotic demonic energy. Her hands, without any mercy, choked him until his eyes rolled back. Only when the blood in his good eye receded did she release her grip.

Xiao Mian leaned his head against Leng Mushi's shoulder, coughing violently. Leng Mushi gritted her teeth, unable to bear the jolting. Finally, she loosened the Ink Dragon that bound Xiao Mian, wanting to get up and pour him some water first.

As soon as she loosened her grip, Xiao Mian immediately used his blood-covered hand to hold Leng Mushi's back, his veins bulging as he pressed down on her shoulders, trapping her firmly in his embrace once more.

Leng Mushi gasped in surprise and didn't dare to move. Xiao Mian finally caught his breath, turning his head to gently kiss her earlobe.

"After all this, you…" Xiao Mian swallowed the words "Where else do you want to run?"

He asked with utmost tenderness, "Does it hurt?"

Leng Mushi's nose suddenly felt sore. Xiao Mian cupped her face, forcing himself to hold back, giving her enough time to recover, but without any further hesitation, he kissed her lips.

"I want to feel the pain," Leng Mushi hugged Xiao Mian, telling him between kisses, "I want to remember…"

Xiao Mian's heart tightened. He initially thought it was because of the Guardian Mark, but when he looked down, the mark on his heart had disappeared at some point.

The sourness, sadness, despair, and confusion in his heart were all replaced by immense joy and pleasure.

To be united with the person he loved and admired, anyone would be overjoyed.

But he didn't rush into anything. Instead, he held Leng Mushi, comforting her and his own flustered heart.

"Don't be afraid," Xiao Mian said, "My demonic energy is about to go out of control, but it's okay, I've thought of a way…"

Xiao Mian grabbed Leng Mushi's hand, wanting her to channel spiritual energy into her fingertips. Then, he guided her hand in the air, drawing intricate runes, and finally, pushing her arm, he imprinted those runes onto his own forehead.

Xiao Mian was in so much pain that he wished he could bite off his own tongue, but he only smiled faintly, his face pale. Then, he took a drop of blood from Leng Mushi's fingertip and pressed it onto his forehead.

Leng Mushi also felt a burning sensation between her eyebrows. A thin, dragon-like blood-red rune appeared simultaneously on both of their foreheads.

"This is…" Xiao Mian was in excruciating pain, but he held Leng Mushi even tighter. "This is the Demon Race's Blood Slave Contract. I saw it in my sea of consciousness when I was muddled. With this blood oath, even if I'm gone, if this body dares to harm you, it will suffer tenfold backlash."

Leng Mushi was stunned and tears welled up in her eyes once more. Xiao Mian, however, couldn't hold back any longer. He kissed her lips and whispered, "I'm sorry…"

He wanted her to only have happy memories of him in the future, but in the end, he still became the source of her painful obsession.

After saying that, he gently lifted Leng Mushi's waist, then pressed down on her shoulders, wishing he could directly crush her into his flesh, bones, soul, and life.

From then on, Leng Mushi couldn't care about anything else. She had never seen Xiao Mian so fierce, so wild.

Several times, she suspected that Xiao Mian's mind had been corrupted by the demonic energy. But when she cupped his face, she saw his clear yet deep gaze, filled with emotions and desire that could draw her in and shatter her.

"Don't stop circulating your spiritual energy," Xiao Mian kissed her cheek, lifting her onto the table. "Otherwise, you'll get hurt."

When it came to such matters, it was difficult for cultivators to get hurt if they consciously circulated their spiritual energy. Only when Leng Mushi was set ablaze did she realize the intensity of Xiao Mian's feelings and possessiveness towards her, to the point that she was also shocked.

But even so, he was still restrained. Madness was alluring, but restraint within madness made Leng Mushi head over heels.

She was like a small boat adrift at sea, steadily sailing through monstrous waves. Whether she was submerged by the waves or tossed to the crest, she could always be steadily lifted out of the dangerous whirlpool by a pair of large hands called tenderness.

Like a journey nearing its end, from the setting sun outside the window sinking below the horizon to the moon rising above the treetops, it slowly came to a stop.

Not only did Leng Mushi not feel tired, but being forced to circulate her spiritual energy for an entire day made her feel so refreshed that she felt like she could go down to the cellar and refine some pills.

On the other hand, Xiao Mian looked pale. The Blood Slave Contract prevented him from using any spiritual energy. His meridians, nourished by spiritual energy for years, strongly rejected the demonic energy. The blood vessels in his good eye also began to turn bloodshot uncontrollably.

But lying on the bed, sharing a soft pillow with Leng Mushi, looking at each other up close, he felt that even if he were to dissipate right now, it wouldn't matter.

However, this thought, when Leng Mushi got up to pour herself some water, began to twist again. He didn't want to dissipate, he wanted to be with her forever, he had done such a thing to her, how could he just leave?!

Perhaps it was this unwillingness that once again occupied all of his thoughts, the bloodshot in his eyes actually receded a little. By the time Leng Mushi came back from drinking water, Xiao Mian pulled her back into bed.

The night was long. Leng Mushi almost suffocated several times under the blanket, experiencing firsthand what it meant to be - entangled to death.

On the verge of being driven mad, Leng Mushi dug her nails into Xiao Mian's back, refusing to let go even when her fingers were burned by the demonic energy.
