It Feels Good to Inspire!

Hey there, fellow asian novel lovers! If you're anything like me, then you're probably always on the lookout for a great website that has a wide selection of novels and runs like a well-oiled machine. Well, let me introduce you to Novelbun and Konila, two websites that are making waves in the world of web novel translations.

Now, let me tell you a little story about how these two websites came to inspire each other in a friendly competition for the title of the best website for reading asian novels.

So, I'm the owner of Novelbun, a website that started off as a small translation project with a passion for simplicity and speed. One day, I came across the novel Domineering CEO Is My Son, which was initially translated by Konila. But due to a shortage of translators, Konila had to put the project on hold.

Being the dedicated translator that I am, I couldn't let the novel go unfinished. So, I reached out to the moderator of Konila, Ormane, for permission to continue translating the novel, and this is how Novelbun got into existence.

Now, here's where things get interesting. When Ormane saw my website, he was impressed with how fast and efficient it was. He had been wanting to update Konila's design and improve its speed for some time but was too busy with work to make it happen.

Have you ever felt like you're stuck in a rut and can't seem to get out of it? That's how Ormane felt for a long time. Konila has been here for a while and it has become quite popular. But like any website, they had some kinks to work out. Their site was slow, with no caching, and a bulky JavaScript framework on the front end. They also had unoptimized images, analytics, ads, and Disqus comments all weighing the site down.

Meanwhile, my little project, Novelbun, is just getting started. I don't have a backend panel, just a simple front-end and a local database with no automatic backup (sigh!) and a bunch of scripts communicating with the front-end. But I am proud of what I have accomplished, and I want to provide a better user experience for readers. So, I focused on speed and efficiency, trimming down unnecessary features to keep the site lightweight.

Seeing my website inspired Ormane to finally take action. He was impressed by my minimalist approach. In fact, he was jealous! Trust me on this! :)

Ormane rolled up his sleeves and got to work on fixing Konila's sluggish website by targeting the two main culprits responsible for its slow loading times. In fact, those two culprits are responsible for most of the slow websites out there. First, he went after "The Query Quartermaster" aka database queries. Then, he tackled "The Bloated Bandit" by simplifying and streamlining the code that runs on the user's browser, making the website much lighter and faster to load. But Ormane didn't stop there. He also added caching and switched to a "serverless" architecture.

Now, Konila is lightning-fast, and readers are having a better experience than ever before. And all this was possible because of the inspiration that came from Novelbun. I'm proud to have played a small part in this, and I'm excited to continue working on Novelbun and improving it as much as possible.

So, what started as a small competition between two translation websites ended up being a win-win for everyone involved. Konila now has a faster, more efficient site, and Novelbun has some great new ideas for improving the user experience. It just goes to show that sometimes a little healthy competition and friendly inspiration can go a long way in improving websites and delighting readers.

And let's not forget the great Arthur C. Clarke's words, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." When I saw the changes made by Ormane, it was like witnessing a spell being cast on the website, transforming it into a blazing fast and efficient platform for reading asian novels.

We're proud to have inspired Konila to make these changes, and we hope to continue to inspire other developers and website owners to prioritize user experience and optimization.

Picture yourself with inspiring background music as you hear this: Feeling like you're stuck in a rut? Just remember that even a small spark of inspiration can ignite big changes. And who knows, perhaps you'll be the one inspiring others to reach new heights on their journey.

So if you're a fan of asian web novels, be sure to bookmark Novelbun and stay tuned for more translations and updates. And don't forget to let us know what you think of our minimalist approach and streamlined user experience. We're always open to feedback and suggestions.

Thanks for joining us on this journey, and happy reading!
